eh, I'd much rather just pay 1 more mana to get a 5/5 body. the other abilities besides maybe the anthem are somewhat irrelevant. Good thoughts though!

As cool as treefolk tribal decks are, this is definitely my favorite Doran deck I've seen because of the various removal options as opposed to running a ton of creatures. +1

I do have a question though. How does Doran play against Urza Tron? In general and your deck specifically. Wurmcoil Engine, Sundering Titan, and the like laugh at Doran's ability, not to mention the board wipes and counter spells. I suppose the aggro nature of Doran can beat Tron before it gets going, but I wouldn't know.

Hey man you really hit the nail on the head with that one. Tron and titan-bloom are the WORST matchups for this deck. Its also why I run 4 path. What do you think I could do to better myself against decks thar can spit out things like Hornet Queen wurmcoil and Titan?

Well you already having Pithing Needle and Stony Silence so its hard to say. Aven Mindcensor is a thing, of course it doesn't work too well with Doran (but maybe that's okay?). Only other card I can think of that would work in here is Ghost Quarter, which helps with both bloom and tron. Assuming that's the card to go with, just gotta figure out what to cut. Running only 20 color-producing lands here is pretty risky I think, so cutting a non-land card might be the way to go, unless you are comfortable replacing a land. Could sideboard it too.

What do you think of Abzan Ascendancy? It buffs your dawgs up, and free Spirits. or Kin-Tree Invocation for a big thing. or Dryad Arbor, because it's Dryad Arbor. or Indomitable Ancients for ALL the lulz. or Tower Defense for an effective Overwhelming Stampede.

Even though Doran the dad is a BEASTLY card with really cool interactions, I don't want my game plan to be dependent on him. Whats so cool about this deck is that its NOT a combo deck, its midrange. the combo-ness between doran and spellskite is awesome! I think gimicky things like the ancients and Defense are just overkill and become dead cards without doran.
kin tree is an interesting card, but at sorcery speed I'd rather just play a Spellskite.
I don't think the ascendency makes a lot of sense here. Its not a bomb card and is really only good in a situation when im already winning. I'd much rather just play Doran.
The arbor is an interesting choice, I don't really like it in this deck because it makes my mana more vulnerable then it already is. If I have a Rhino in hand, I want to have the ability to cast it on turn 4. a tap land that can get bolted is not a good investment in this deck.

I sort of agree with you asdf9660asdf but Tower Defense turns small unblocked creature in my game to game winning attacks but i'm build more around Mardu Ascendancy is probably why it works so well for me.

Oh, and the SB looks nice, too. It just turns into a mini-Hatebears/Prison deck. Crazy. But one thing: YOU'RE MISSING A CARD! What's the plan for your sideboard? Are you becoming more aggressive against certain strategies, or are you trying to shut down other strategies?

Thankyou so much for drawing my attention to the sideboard, it is now updated and accurate to what I have IRL. My sideboard is generally pretty well rounded. I have some good hate against burn/mill/affinity. I am now trying VERY hard to beat tron/bloom decks. Those decks are hands down the WORST matchup for me. with that in mind, I have up to 7 cards I could board in to hate out tron.
any thoughts on how I could improve the sideboard?
