Torpor Orb will remove detrimental abilities that trigger when a creature is summoned. These cards are meant to bide my time until I can unleash the beasts. Guard duty is a cheap enchantment which can hopefully protect me from aggressors while I'm wide open. A few instants allow me draw cards to get to get what I need more quickly. Doomed Traveler is likewise useful because it can basically block an attack for two turns in a row. Squadron Hawk can provide me with four blockers, even though this handy ability is rendered moot when the cards I need are in play, but no matter, that can only mean that I got what I needed, hopefully. Once Torpor orb or Hushwing Gryff is on the field then I can hopefully get aggressive without too much worry, considering their relatively low mana cost they should be uncontested. This deck is vulnerable to enchantments, especially milling, but Aegis of the Gods can give me Hexproof, at least.
