Creature (1)

Sorcery (1)

This deck has become one of my favorites to play. It might not win every game, but it will take most of the table down in a bloody massacre!

The best part of the deck is its theme and the value it gets from it; sacrifice creatures and draw a grip of cards from doing so.

To pilot this deck successfully we need to cast Greven preferably with haste, and also an effect which makes him unblockable.

The name of the game is to spend life to take life. We have many ways in the deck to lose massive amounts of life in order to pump Greven for a lethal hit, but don't worry, there are many effects in the deck to gain us that life back.

Win Cons:

Commander damage - The most straight forward win con in the deck is to swing at each opponent individually and kill the with commander damage. Cast Seize the Day while Geven is lethal and you got it in the bag.

Infect - Get Greven's power to 10 or above, cast Chandra's Ignition to deal damage equal to Geven's power, then cast Tainted Strike to give Greven infect to kill all opponents.

Lock - Cast Mindslicer and sac him to Greven's trigger, the table discards their hands and we stack the triggers to draw 4 cards from Mindslicer being sacrificed. Then use Phyrexian Reclamation to recur Mindslicer each turn. We could repeat these steps with any other creature with a desirable enter/leave the battlefield effect such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Kokusho, the Evening Star.

The deck is really fun to pilot and I get lots of positive comments about the build at my LGS. Most of the time, none of my opponents have played against Greven and don't really understand what he does. After a couple games the table will be aware of how lethal this deck can be.
