I wanted to try to make a deck wholly focused on Changelings like Universal Automaton and Fire-Belly Changeling, combined with spells like Kinjalli's Caller to make my changelings either free, or insanely cheap. I combine this with spells that buff a specific creature type, such as Wirewood Pride, and suddenly cards that are otherwise useless become insanely powerful.
This is a WUBRG deck, and as such is not the most consistent; however, it is far more consistent than I though it would be, thanks in part to Gemhide Sliver essentially fixing mana immediately upon cast.
I have considered throwing some Counterspells in, but do not know which the best would be to include in such a deck.
Very open to suggestions, and am constantly going to be updating this deck list as it evolves and new tech is discovered. I think there might actually be something usable here, I just have to nail stuff down.
Things to work on:
Supporting Spells - Need to work on the spells used other than the changelings themselves, such as buff spells, creature type specific cards that work and synergize well, etc.
Mana Base - The mana base I am currently working with uses Ash Barrens for fixing, along with Shimmering Grotto and its counterpart to act as further fixing, with some basics of each color thrown in. I do not know if this is the most optimal.
Curve - I could probably add some bigger cost changelings and creatures in as backup plans, if there are any suggestions I am open.
