This is a W/B Reanimator deck, meaning no red, no Faithless Looting, no Through the Breach.
Start off with Any land, but Scrubland or Marsh Flats is usually the best choice for a starting land. Add a Dark Ritual and Maybe even a Lotus Petal and your pretty much set on land for the game.
Your first play of the game should be Swamp+Dark Ritual, Cast Entomb, and follow-up with Goryo's Vengeance, Exhume, or Shallow Grave depending on the Creature card you put from your Library to the Graveyard.
With this deck you usually want to hit a Griselbrand with Goryo's Vengeance too get a haste attack with potential Life gain and Draw ability or with Exhume or Shallow Grave, pull a Hellcarver Demon and try to swing for the fences. Best case you use Shallow Grave so the Hellcarver Demon can attack right away. From this point, you can either attack with the Griselbrand and attempt to keep drawing into morte combos and other cards to keep your opponent at bay or you can go with the Hellcarver Demon and swing for the fences. The Hellcarver Demon when it attacks and deals 6 damage to an opponent, requires the attacking player to discard their hand and sacrifice all permanents they have in play. This shouldn't be too much of a burden. In most cases by first turn you probably only have 1-2 lands in play, maybe a Lotus Petal and no other creatures, and your most of your hand should need to go in the graveyard anyway to make room for your next triggers. Make sure when you discard your hand, you put the creatures in it in the right order, especially with Shallow Grave's mechanics of making you choose the top creature card to bring back with haste form the graveyard. The last ability of the Hellcarver Demon activities and you exile the top 6 cards of your library from the game. You can cast any number of non-land permenants without paying their mana costs. This means, you could hit any numbers of creatures from this draw and put them out on the field, you could play additional Exhume's and bring more creatures into play like Ashen Rider to blow up your opponents non-land permanents, Blazing Archon to stop your opponent from attacking you, or even Twilight Shepherd to bounce all cards removed with Hellcarver Demon from play back to your hand on the current turn. Tons of different things you can do with the deck.
Chancellor of the Annex is a great card as well in this deck, it has some utility to add a counter spell mechanic to the first turn. The opponent must pay 1 mana of any color on top of any counter spell cast for their first spell of the game in order to hinder your play. The Chancellor of the Annex can be shown at the beginning of the game for the trigger to occur or when she's put into play via a reanimate card or from Hellcarver Demon's ability. And yes, this does work against Force of Will requiring that they pay that additional 1 mana to make the counter work on top of the life lost and the discarded card.
Lastly, Last Rites is a pretty useful spell in its own way. In most circumstances, you have enough mana only for the Entomb and one of the reanimate spells to get your combo off. Sometimes, with a single mana, and a couple of Dark Rituals or Lotus Petals, you can use Last Rites to literally dump any of the creature cards or other things you don't need to the graveyard. Then, after discarding those cards, you get to look at your opponent's hand and choose a same number of cards you discarded and target that same number of cards in your opponents hand and make them discard those cards (I recommend hitting all their land drops or counters). This removes some of the worry about what your opponent could do to screw up your plays for the first 2 turns.
As of right now, I am still looking into some cheap and effective black spells for this deck, but for the most part, it has been working great in the 5-6 games I've played since completing what I have posted in this Deck List.
If anyone has any questions or comments about a mechanic or ideas for changing the deck, please post in here.
Thanks.
