Hey, so this is a deck I built for a brand new format called rush. Apparently it was just made like, yesterday on reddit. idk it seemed interesting. I heard about it through the commanders quarters, it's a youtube channel that does like magic news and budget deck techs and parody videos, all that kind of stuff.
I'll leave a link to the video here if anyone wants to watch it:
Rush Commanders Quarters
Basically from what I got, the formats rules are as follows:
30 card decks (Companions count towards the 30, so if you run a companion its 29 plus the companion.
10 life
Constructed Decks
Doubleton (Idk if that's a word but that's how I'm describing it, you can have 2 of each card unless it says otherwise IE relentless rats or basics which you can run as many of as you want)
5 card maximum hand size
Mulligan - Player who mulligans first can mulligan twice, opponent only once. In the case of multiplayer, everyone can mulligan once. Mulligans I do not believe go back under your deck. If you mulligan, those cards are gone. Could be wrong on that though
Draw - Basically at the beginning of each of your draw phase you put your hand on the bottom in a random order and draw cards equal to the amount you put on the bottom (max of 5 I believe???). If you're using a companion and it is in your companion zone, this is only 4. Each card counts as your first draw of the turn for all intensive purposes, except miracle cards which will only count for that specific first draw.
Banlist - All Legacy banned cards are banned, and there is also an expanded banlist consisting of mostly fast mana and some format breaking cards like one that lets you pay 4 to deal 10, or shift your hand for 1 to deal 5. The list is included in the video and in the link in the video too I'm sure.
I may have missed a point or two here, again for a more complete understanding watch Mitch's video and he also left a link to the OG reddit post I believe.
This list is having some fun with ramp and draw effects. Just kinda running with the Simic good stuff and seeing if its quick enough to make it through a highspeed format.
