The basic strategy of this deck is to prevent your opponent from issuing any damage upon you, or block any of the damage that you deal to them. The RTR mechanic, detain, ensures that this method of controlling the board will be almost always successful. There are a couple of flying and hexproof creatures that will allow you to avoid their spells, as well as swoop over their "undetained" creatures.
