Sideboard

The future of my Standard Abzan Aggro deck

After the first tournament, the deck proved it can handle itself, though definitely not quite as strongly as I hoped. Went 3-1 with the bye, losing to a BW Warriors deck in round 1. That was mainly due to a very poor showing of lands in game 2, followed by a slow hand game 3.

I'm still not certain the best way to deal with aggro decks. I'm somewhat tempted to dump the murderous cut slot for Despise, as a lot of people seem to run a lot of creatures, and a turn one or two Despise could potentially weaken the warrior players enough for me to find some footing.

Abzan mirror was a tough match as usual. Presideboard I got stomped by waves of Elspeth's. Post sideboard, went with lots of control and was able to dominate the last two games.

Played a BW beatdown deck as the final round, and while I had some trouble at first, running Erase post sideboard dealt with their gods.

I'm going to run some experiments over the coming weeks to nail down a good response to aggro, as that is definitely my toughest matchup, at least when they can remove my early blockers.
