Commander: Kozilek, the Great Distortion

So this is an Eldrazi deck that I've been building for awhile now. With Wastes out, it made it much more cheaper to build the deck without all the colorless nonbasics. Kozilek is the ideal commander since he refills your hand on demand without relying on draw engines. With rocks out and lands on the field, a fresh hand full of gas is a welcome sight.

However, it's been a trend that I've seen while playtesting online that many players get anxious when the big, fluffy Eldrazi come out to play. To settle this, I devised of two alternates that can either go more aggressive or take a more friendly approach.

A more aggressive approach is to utilize cards such as Steel Hellkite and Blightsteel Colossus. Or slap on Eldrazi Conscription + Inkmoth Nexus to make your opponents DOA!

The above strategy is normally for players who would like to win more consistently since you have tons of honorary Eldrazi to include. Yet more casual playgroups frown upon such cheap shots. But to disarm your nukes would leave you defenseless. Which is why grouphugs could be more beneficial to the game state while increasing your value to other players. Card draw is very welcome to most players and acts as a game accelerant. Another card that protects you while letting your opponents quarrel among themselves is Void Winnower, who limits the casting ability of most control players and allows creature heavy decks a chance to beat each other to death. And chumping with tokens is a thing of the past!

For this deck, I love role-playing as the EDH police. I put up my Eldrazi wall and wait until a player gets pretty bullied and respond with equal force. It keeps the game fair and lets the Eldrazi be the good guys for once. And if the creatures get too crazy, hit them with All Is Dust for good measure.

In the end, EDH is meant to be fun for both the player and the opponents. As is such, I love playing "Who Wants an Eldrazi" with the other players. I get to decide who gets the Eldrazi Conscription and on which creature. So yes, your typhoid rat can be an Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, Johnny!
