Maybeboard

Creature (2)

Sorcery (1)

My first true EDH deck. Grixis Reanimator-Control with a madness theme. Need help with making the deck more consistent, resilient, and less "Commander dependent".

The deck's strategy is using cycling spells, such as [Faithless Looting], and cycling creatures, such as [Anje Falkenrath], to fill the graveyard. Then reanimator spells, like [Persist], bring back creatures like [Etali, Primal Storm]. Counterspells and Removal slow opponents down before the graveyard strategy is ready.

There are a lot of problems with the deck that I would love suggestions on. Of course, some of these are either user error or inherit weaknesses of a deck of this power level and strategy. They are as follows:

  1. Little redundancy or consistency. The strategy rarely goes as planned and always ends up playing "full-control" instead of reanimating and attacking.

  2. The deck is weak at combat and slow. The deck spends a majority of the game cycling cards with no improvement of board state.

  3. No consistent of non-creature removal. This deck folds to [Rest in Peace] style effects and has no ways of countering them. Yes, graveyard decks are inherently weak to these effects, but the deck currently has no alternate play pattern or counter to Anti-graveyard plays.

  4. Despite being partially , the deck has no instant/sorcery recursion besides [charmbreaker devils]. Card suggestions are more than welcome.

  5. Reanimator Targets feel unimpactful and don't improve the deck's position.
