This is getting stupid.

DragonKing90 is just a troll fellas. He posts his opinion as if it's fact to upset people and then thrives when they argue with him. Some times his opinion is legit others it's frustratingly entertaining. Just ignore him and remove his comments.

APPLE01DOJ: you clearly don't know what a troll is. not MY fault you don't know how to evaluate a card.

Guys... This is about a deck, not your personal opinion of AT. If you like or dislike AT be my guest to start a forum on it arguing your opinion. Just let it go, and stop arguing.

"Here's what a pro thinks, we should do what they think because they're a pro" is a logical fallacy called "appeal to authority". Instead of arguing that "she has 10 years playing Jund" (which she actually doesn't, incidentally, unless you're including Zendikar Standard, Living End, and many other Red-Black-Green decks) it would have gone farther to me to have just seen the points she made and an argument for why they're valid. I much prefer to judge an opinion on the merits rather than on the person giving the opinion.

Edit: Referencing an expert and then giving an argument on their opinion would also be valid.

That being said I did read the article and I am "hedging" a bit after looking at Goldfish and seeing the prevalence of Burn and Humans, 2 aggro decks that would benefit massively from early land. A mainboard Collective Brutality can be back breaking for aggro decks while also providing some flexibility against control, and the 4th Assassin's Trophy on the side can come in if they're packing Celestial Colonnade, Leyline of Sanctity, Jace, the Mind Sculptor, etc

Oh man, I want to find a way to make Sultai work so bad.

I feel like it needs to be a Delver Deck vs a Jund/Junk style.

the new surveil cards might be good alongside Delver of Secrets  Flip, I remember Brainstorm with Delver flip on the stack was a fun trick back when I played Legacy.

Um... why get Karn with trophy when you can just get a ton land instead?

Tron in my experience is surprisingly resilient to land disruption. They can find more with Ancient Stirrings, bring in sideboard tech, or just cast Karn the hard way. That being said though I'd hit whichever one feels better in the moment and play the card accordingly.

yeah I guess

still play one or two Abrupt Decay

Yup

How do you feel about Liliana, the Last Hope over Liliana, Heretical Healer  Flip? Liliana, Heretical Healer  Flip feels much better in decks with sac effects where you can immediately trigger her, like aristocrats, vs a midrange deck playing the most disruptive and powerful cards possible.

Liliana, the Last Hope is also great at recovering Bloodbraid Elf, and is also a solid cascade.

I also still like access to 1-2 Maelstrom Pulse despite the greater flexibility of Assassin's Trophy, random 2 for 1s and killing swaths of Lingering Souls or Young Pyromancer tokens is high utility. I like it more than a random Abrupt Decay anyway, whose targets are much more limited in modern.

What about Gonti, Lord of Luxury?

Not a bad idea. I like having a mix of 4 drops on the side that can come in for Bloodbraid Elf. Right now I only have 3, an Obstinate Baloth for Burning Inquiry decks and Liliana of the Veil mirrors, a Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip for grindy matches, and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet for additional graveyard hate. They all also gain life. Gonti, Lord of Luxury would fill a somewhat similar role, but would probably be better against Jeskai or Dimir style control. Hitting a Jace, the Mind Sculptor with him would be awesome.

I like the addition of Risk Factor. How has it performed?

November 8, 2018 8:48 p.m.

Spazik008 says... #22

It's only come up a couple times so far but it seems like a good fit for the deck, combines spell damage in the air with potential extra cards and can be thrown away to Liliana of the Veil for partial value.

Do you really think 2x Choke in the side is worth it, I mean really, unless your meta is severly overwhelmed by blue, I doubt it will put in that much work, by turn 3, they have countermagic up if you are against control-blue, and if you aren't against control-blue lists... I honestly don't know why you would use a card like Choke...

November 9, 2018 9:38 a.m.

Spazik008 says... #24

I really think it's worth it. Against a blue deck I'd much rather slam a Choke than a Liliana of the Veil. It's just a quick free win, like slamming Blood Moon against a tapped out Abzan. Against blue you have to wait for an opening between the counter magic, but they do usually tap out at some point, even if it's to drop a Jace, the Mind Sculptor.

I think there's enough blue right now to justify it. Not just from Jace, the Mind Sculptor or Death's Shadow decks, but Storm is mostly blue, blue moon is still out there with Pestermite, Izzet shenanigans, etc.

Yeah... but I think the slots in the board would be better for Collective Brutalities or something.
