What's the point of the fetch lands if all they do is get you an island? Why not just put in more islands? You don't seem to be doing any kind of landfall mechanic.

A question, maybe its something im missing. What is the reason for Diminishing returns? Just for the additional wheel effect?Does the exiling 10 cards ever backfire on you?

toodaloo Yes, it's just another draw 7. Efficiently costed at 4. It hasn't stopped me from winning yet, but it's possible. After playing extensively with Demonic Consultation in other decks, I'm not worried about the statistical unlikelihood of hitting all my wincon outlets.

What about standstill so you can fill your hand and prep the turn you go off

Forsyth91 Spending mana for your opponents to draw cards isn't great unless we can guaranteed use them first. It also isn't advantageous to play Standstill against any deck that has a boardstate, as you'll get beat down/Yisan'd/Zur'd/etc.

I was thinking more if using it in the early game, because at my lgs we have pods of people and it can stop the creature decks that are present.

Would the deck still be viable without the candle thingy, time twister, transmute artifact, mana crypt and mox diamond?

First off, I love this deck. I have not seen a fully optimized JVP list before that I thought was tier 1 until I saw this one. It wins VERY consistently on or before turn 5 even through disruption.

Second, I have gold-fished this deck a few hundred times now and the only critique I have to make is intuition. I was almost never happy to see that card. I get that there are multiple functional copies of almost every card, but getting the worst one with 3 mana tacked on the casting cost just seemed bad. I would prefer to have seen meditate in those instances where I drew it looking for gas on the combo turn. Other than that very well built deck +1 from me.

ellioteison Intuition is great! You can guaranteed put both High Tide and Time Spiral/Twister (or get double tide) into castable zones with a flipped Jace.

Practice with the card, it has a lot of hidden power! :)

ShaperSavant Figured. Anyway, can I just ask if you tried running this deck with Lab Man? If you did, how did it work for you? And what slot did you remove to make way for it?

ShaperSavant says... #20

SlagBombFTW I was using LabMan before Aetherflux Resevoir came out and cut it for that. Pretty much any reasonable situation you can win with LabMan, you can with with Aetherflux instead.

A few questions as a fellow tide player. What are your thoughts on Mox Amber? I notice the ancient tomb, but have found it's just a bad island in many cases.

Have you ever considered paradox engine? have found it's synergies with top quite useful, but im not too sure if the insurance of having a secondary storm activator is necessary.

Mox Amber's been pretty good. I'm happy to play more rocks that top for blue.

Ancient Tomb is pretty decent acceleration before the storm turn and on the storm turn it doesn't set up too far back.

Paradox Engine is pretty clunky; I think we'r just on the cusp of having enough rocks to power it. You could warp a little to play it and a lot of the JVP players are. Give it a shot.

Yo Shaper, me again. I just like to know your take on running Reality Shift? It also has an infinite combo when paired with Paradox Scepter. I was thinking of putting it in but I'd like to have a feedback if you'd be willing to take out Submerge or Pongify over it.

I know I'm free to edit the list to whatever I want but I'd like to have an opinion from those that play consistently in higher cedh metas.

Bosium Strip + Relic of Progenitus?

I have been using these in a budget version, and they work quite nicely specially if you have Paradox Engine out
