Caged Sun maybe

PepsiAddicted thank you for the +1 ;)

I used to play Caged Sun, but I find it pretty useless in a deck that has far better ways to ramp. It costs 6 and for that mana you'd rather play much better stuff. That card, though, is mandatory in every combination of colors that doesn't benefit from the best ramping spells.

If you use Omnath, Locus of Mana as your general, then that card will become extremely valuable even in mono G. But that's the only case IMO.

PepsiAddicted I really appreciated that you tried to positively give your opinion to my deck! Thank you so much :)

If you haven't considered them, Sunstone and Jolrael, Empress of Beasts are a lot of fun and very useful to a deck like this.

Karns_Pyromancer I think that Sunstone won't be that useful since there would be hardly any moment where this deck will have less creatures than the others. We will be the one to put pressure by attacking, not them ;) Jolrael, Empress of Beasts seems a very interesting card! Sure, you have to discard 2 cards and thus it make it possible to use her ability only in limited (and pretty desperate) occasions, but it's a very fun card to add. Which card do you suggest I replace it with?

July 16, 2015 6:50 p.m.

Harsh as it sounds, I'm not a fan of Garruk, Caller of Beasts, Harmonize, or Elvish Mystic/Llanowar Elves. I would definitely swap the last two for Elemental Bond and Ambush Commander. Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury might be worth considering as well (I'm really not trying to suggest a lot of Elves, but if I were, I'd suggest Elvish Archdruid).

I am surprised that you run Nykthos, but not Karametra's Acolyte.

Karns_Pyromancer thanks for your suggestions :) I would like to know why you don't like those cards you mentioned: is it a personal reason or and objective one?I'm gonna explain you what I think of your suggested cards, one by one and in detail.

First of all, I must say I truly like Elemental Bond; the problem with it is that is an awful topdeck, and that it doesn't allow you not to draw the card (thus risking to mill yourself or go to discard pretty often).

Ambush Commander is a pretty terrible card! we're talking about a format where Wrath of God effect are pretty common; turning all of your lands into creatures does not seem the best plan to me ;) the aim with Kamahl, Fist of Krosa is the other way around: turning your opponents' lands into creatures as soon as somebody does a a board swipe.

Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury seems a decent card, what card do you suggest I swap her with? and why?

I'm sorry but I don't see the reason why I should use Elvish Archdruid: sure, he gives you a lot of mana sometimes, but it is CMC 3 and as soon as someone will board swipe once, it will become a very bad topdeck. I tried it and removed it for those reasons. I would say that he is a very strong card in a tribal Elves commander, though.

I run Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx because it is a land. Karametra's Acolyte is a 4 cmc mana dork; she's waaaaaaaaaaaaay to slow and useless in almost all mono G EDH. The only deck where I use her is an Omnath, Locus of Mana EDH, since in that case I'll have plenty of mana to cast her before turn 4 (and I can store her mana for better days).

July 17, 2015 6:32 p.m.

Didn't mean to suggest Archdruid if I did.

Harmonize, being Draw 3 for 2CC, would be average in Blue. It's only good in Green because there's not many other non-conditional green draw. However, most of Green's draw is based around it's creatures. Especially with Kamahl, you can abuse this for cards like Shamanic Revelation and Collective Unconscious.

As for the Garruk, I mistook it for Garruk, Primal Hunter.

MystQuick and co. I find to be terrible outside my opening hand. If they work for you, GREAT! I've just never had them work for me.

Cicjose why should I play Dwynen? This is not a tribal elf deck, and I find her effect pretty useless, don't you say? Unless you thought of strange synergies that I'm not aware of; in that case, I'm more than willing to hear them :)

July 23, 2015 4:10 p.m.

Cicjose says... #12

Natural Order doesnt have any synergy either..... the effect only works with one card in your entire deck at least Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen has an effect that helps most of your creatures

July 24, 2015 1:23 a.m.

Cariddis says... #13

Cicjose Are you joking, right? Natural Order allows you to put into play any green creature of your deck. The most obvious choices are Terastodon, Woodfall Primus and Craterhoof Behemoth but you can also tutor other things. If you are refferring to the creature to be sacrificed, it is true that the best choice is definitely Dryad Arbor, but any mana dork can be sacrificed this way, as well as cards that once are in play will be no longer of use (i.e: Fierce Empath or Yavimaya Elder)

Natural Order says Green Summon Creature.... you have ONE in your entire deck Quirion Ranger read the card carefully

LOL Cicjose ever heard about rewording? Natural Order :D :D :D

I would add some stuff like Staff of Nin so with kamahl's ability to turn lands into 1/1 this could win the game for you by destroying your opponent's lands

August 6, 2015 8:36 a.m.

So, I was looking through some old cards, saw Earth Surge, and thought of you.

Fantastic deck, +1 from me. I have been considering making a Kamahl EDH so thanks for the inspiration!

August 23, 2015 10:51 a.m.

Cariddis says... #19

Apocolisp you're very welcome :) I'm still testing it a lot. If I'll ever make some changes I'll edit the deck so that you will know which cards had been added and which one was removed. :)

Karns_Pyromancer the problem with Earth Surge is that EACH land becomes a creature; that means that you won't be able to kill opponents' lands if anyone casts a Black Sun's Zenith for 1 or other stuff like Midnight Banshee or Night of Souls' Betrayal.

Slang111 I used to run Staff of Nin but it costs a lot of mana for a meagre effect. For six mana other players will have played some bombs. It is better to use Kamahl's effect as an incentive for preventing your opponents from casting Wrath of God effects ;)

Nacatl War-Pride is a solid add. Make their lands creatures. Now their lands have to tap or you kill them. But wait, now all of those Nactl's are unblocked... hmmmmm :)

September 22, 2015 9:10 a.m.

Cariddis says... #21

gobucks that seems an awesome idea! I'll have to test it and let you know how it works :)

September 22, 2015 6:17 p.m.

Cariddis says... #22

gobucks unfortunately your idea is not gonna work since any opponent will tap their animated lands so that they won't have to block the Nacatl War-Pride tokens.

September 23, 2015 7 p.m.

gobucks says... #23

It does work... just in a different way. The lands are still creatures, so the Nacatl tokens are still made and still attack. So they are unblocked, you activate the second ability of Kamahl. 6-8 lands now tapped, so you pump those 6-8 unblocked 3/3 Nacatls. Without pump that is 18-24 damage, with pump that is 36-48 or twice 54-72 damage. How does this 'not work'?

Also, if your opponent is a control player their lands are now tapped on your second main phase.

September 24, 2015 2:56 p.m.

gobucks says... #24

Do notice how Nacatl works. When it attacks you put a token in for EACH creature (in this case, lands are now included) your opponent controls.

September 24, 2015 2:59 p.m.

Cariddis says... #25

gobucks yeah sorry. I thought you wanted to kill opponents' lands by using this method. I can see that you just meant to create a ton of Nacatl token and simply overrun everything with them :) that actually seems a very good tactic. Still, I have to verify how efficient this will be since it seems to require a lot of mana. I'll try it and let you know after several tests!
