perhaps suggesting a weird question. what are the winning conditions of this deck? because I made a list of my deck myself and I thought of myself what makes this deck now more than making land fast. because I can use a lot of information from your deck
October 5, 2017 11:29 a.m.
Lode_Denolf this deck has 2 main ways of winning: either by casting Craterhoof Behemoth or by generating a ton of mana and using Kamahl's Overrun ability. In both cases you should be able to kill everybody else :)
If you need any detailed info feel free to ask!

Hey bud. Ya got you a fierce list here. My only criticism, and you can ignore this if you like... How about a name?
A more interesting name would pull more people in, make your deck more attractive, and be something to joke/brag about with your group.
'I have all of the lands', 'Surprise, I have an army', 'Well I don't have mana problems...', something witty like that.

ZendikariWol all critics are welcome here :) I actually never thought about giving my deck a name. I always thought that the easiest way for people to find this list was to give it a clear and standard title. I'll think about a witty name and use it. Thanks a lot for the advice :)

No prob bob. I love being that snarky, witty kid. good consideration though, concerning the actual deck, Embodiment of Insight. Giving your stuff some blocking power is probably important with such a seemingly powerful deck; getting backswung is a real danger.
December 9, 2017 6:30 p.m.
ZendikariWol I looked at Embodiment when it was released but all I saw was a way for my opponents to use their spot removal on my lands. It doesn't help the gameplan, since it's not through lands that I usually win. This deck doesn't require stopping power: the idea is to Overrun my opponents before they have a chance of killing me ;) of course this is not always possible, but that's the beauty of a multiplayer game.

Would cut Extraplanar Lens because with the high count of nonbasics I was constantly exiling the only copy in my hand and on the field.
February 11, 2018 4:15 p.m.
I find lens to be very powerful. It never happened to me to have too few basics, especially considering the amount of ramp I play. What will you replace it for?
February 12, 2018 1:42 p.m.
darklord1135 I tried caged sun but it's very slow and it costs too much. Gauntlet is not a good card IMO: we're in a multiplayer format, thus risking giving advantage to more than one opponent is not beneficial. That's why I use lenses, since it is less likely for my opponents (especially the ones using multi-colored commanders) to run snow-covered lands.

How's Worldly Tutor working out for you? I find Beast Within to be invaluable removal for monogreen, unless I'm in an extremely spells-heavy meta. Which I'm not.
For new cards in RIX, the only ones I can think of that could be useful are Thrashing Brontodon (good, but probably not necessary with Rec Sage), Wayward Swordtooth, and Azor's Gateway Flip (because looting is awesome and the thought of Deserted Temple with the flip side is making Kamahl's Overrun button twitchy).
How is Growing Rites of Itlimoc Flip working for you? I find that I'm constantly whiffing on the ETB and hoping to flip ASAP to make up for it.
February 20, 2018 11:35 a.m.
I find rites to be very good! It is a good cantrip and to me it hardly goes blank. Furhtermore, I find the chance to have another copy of Gaea's Cradle to be of great value.
RIX didn't show me cards of any value whatsoever. Brontodon doesn't have an ETB, so I would compare it to a worse Qasali Pridemage. In the same line of reasoning, swordtooth it's just an awful Oracle of Mul Daya. I thought about azor's gateway but I'm still uncertain: the risk of losing a lot of cards when flipped (since commander is a removal-intense format) is very high. The looting ability seems intriguing, though.
I find worldly to be stronger than beast within. There is no way for us to tutor beast, while worldly can get us some useful creature to solve critical situations. But that's just my personal opinion.

Have you considered Bear Umbra? Gives some protection to Kamahl in the form of Totem Armor, plus untaps your lands for another series of Overruns.
Really digging the decklist though!
June 12, 2018 10:15 a.m.
Randomdeck101 I considered it when I first built the deck, more than 3 years ago :) unfortunately, the problem I found out with bear umbra weere:
1) I don't know which card to take out in order to make space for it.
2) It can't be tutored.
I find it a good card, overall. Just that I rather have the enchantments that you can currently than having this aura. I'll do some testing since I might actually be wrong, but it will take me some time to figure out whether it is viable.
Thanks for the advice :)

Really nice deck you got here my friend. I have a similar story with my Talrand, Father of Drakes deck. He was also my first legendary and when the time to build a commander deck came he was also my choice. It's great to see people picking a legendary they like and pick them for their first commander, specially when the deck turns out great like yours! Well done. :)

Wintermoon thank you, I'm glad that other people share my philosophy regarding choosing their commander :)

Any opinions on Beast Whisperer from GRN?
September 30, 2018 8:16 a.m.
Austin_Smith_of_Cards that card is a bomb and as soon as I get to play more games I'll likely put it in the 99s. The problem is always the same: which card shall I take out? The most obvious choice is Soul of the Harvest as it does basically the same thing (even though I think etb triggers are better than casting ones for this deck) and I have way too many 6 drops. The other possible choice is Regal Behemoth, another 6 drop that risks giving your opponent monarch. However, its mana boost is extremely valuable so I will rather take out the former upon the latter

On average, how much mana can you make in a game? I'm really interested in using Spawnsire of Ulamog in a deck to close games with an onslaught of eldrazi [I know, this unoptimal]. But I'm trying to figure out what changes I would need to hit the rediculous activation cost.
March 18, 2019 3:17 a.m.
DecadeFire with Kamahl and an animated Gaea's Cradle using quirion ranger you will get a huge load of mana. If you feel like using it for spawnsire be my guest, even though the wisest choice would be to overrun everybody to death ;)

Austin_Smith_of_Cards I totally agree with your analysis! I'll do some testing and try your changes. In case I like that choice, can I use quote your comment in the deck description? :)
