Background history

For a long now, I wanted to build a commander deck with relentless rats, and this is my attempt at it. Been trying to find a good commander for it, and to avoid a mono-black deck with Marrow-Gnawer, since it lacked good cards to support the strategy. In the end I found green to be a good supporting colour.

Combo-lines

• The goal is to tutor for Thrumming Stone, cast it, cast 1 Relentless Rats and then Eldritch Evolution into Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Mogis's Marauder. It gets people by surprise when they don't know the deck, and if it resolves only stifle effects would save them. (you'll have closely to 30 rats on the battlefield, that's close to 60 devotion when Gray Merchant of Asphodel resolves or if you find Mogis's Marauder it will be enough to give Haste and Intimidate to all your creatures and hopefully attack for lethal)
• Another way to go about this would be to have Ashnod's Altar or Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx to make a ton of mana and cast a big Exsanguinate| This line is out of the deck at the moment since you do need to resolve a sorcery to what people tend to have more stack interaction for | Also, Phyrexian Altar lets you sac some of the rats to cast Jharad and kill the table with the rest of 20+/20+ rats
• You can also tutor for Mortal Combat expecting someone will blow the board, and hope to make it a turn cycle and win :)
• You can also have Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord sacrifice one rat to deal almost lethal to some players.
• Lastly, by the time you're able to cast all the rats with stone, you should have 1 or 2 rats already on the board, and they'll be huge, so just smash faces xD

Cards in consideration

So I'm still considering some changes, and since this deck is a silver bullet of mine, I haven't tested it so much.

• I feel like the deck's greatest weaknesses would be permission and instant artifact removal, therefore I spent some slots in GY recursion, still thinking about the possibility to add Reclaim, Yawgmoth's Will.
• Because I run Eldritch Evolution for the purpose of getting Gray Merchant of Asphodel, I'm also watching closely for 3CMC utility creatures I could fetch by casting it on the dorks. I might swap between Reclamation Sage and Manglehorn.
• Descendants' Path seems a good card to fuel the board, but it's not a may trigger, so I'm not sure it would play well with finding the right cards we want, when we want an answer, and suddenly it's shipped to bottom, also we can only Vamp Tutor after it triggers, and therefore we can't Imperial Seal when it is on the BF.
• Since what I want the most to tutor for is Thrumming Stone I'm considering taking out Beseech the Queen.
• In terms of evasion, I'm still unsure whether to put Brawn or Filth but the latter seems to be more efficient as random pesky deathtouch creatures would not kill the rats and go uncontested
• I do want to be explosive and reach 5 mana for for Stone, that's why Lotus Petal and Dark Ritual are in there, but it might come out soon because it's a one time thing.
• Since my LGS allows for Wish cards, I'm considering on adding Mastermind's Acquisition
