Welcome to my Yisan, the Wanderer Bard cEDH deck!

I have always loved Yisan, the Wanderer Bard as a creature and even more so as a commander deck. I initially built him to be a fun more casual build that simply just ups the threat levels as you increase the verse counters. However, as COVID-19 changed the world in the beginning of 2020, my playgroup and community started leaning harder into more competitive style play with cEDH using the tools like Tabletop simulator, spelltable, etc. So I had a choice to make. Join the ranks as one of the top players in our cEDH community, or continue playing strong yet more casual decks in the majority of the field. I then remembered a video of a commander game playing that I watched back in college. It was of a table of more competitive decks before cEDH was really a thing. There was a Yisan, the Wanderer Bard deck there, and it came out of the gates so fast that it took over the game with its' massive synergies and combos right from the start. I remember watching that game and being amazed by the lines of play. The decision was made. I know what I needed to do. I was going to be the next pilot of Yisan, the Wanderer Bard in cEDH. Show the power of mono-Green and prove to our community that Blue was not the only powerhouse for competitive play when it comes to cEDH.

-The Basics-

Yisan, the Wanderer Bard has usually has two main goals. Stop your opponents from winning the game, and winning the game yourself. The same for most decks, however Yisan is a gateway for tutoring up your entire game plan...consistently.

-The Main Combos-

There are usually three main combos we utilize to end the game. all of which allow us to draw most of our deck and create any amount of damage to remove our opponents from the game. These lines include the following cards:

  1. Wirewood Symbiote
  2. Elvish Visionary
  3. Karametra's Acolyte
  4. Temur Sabertooth

or

  1. Quirion Ranger or Scryb Ranger
  2. Elvish Visionary
  3. Karametra's Acolyte
  4. Temur Sabertooth
  5. Ashaya, Soul of the Wild

or

  1. Elvish Visionary
  2. Karametra's Acolyte
  3. Temur Sabertooth
  4. Umbral Mantle

Either of these will produce tons of mana all while drawing most of your deck to find all the pieces you need to end the game. Once executed, simply you can just cast Craterhoof Behemoth over and over again until satisfied with the size of your creatures and trample. The remainder of the deck includes removal, stacks pieces, ramp, and other interaction that allow you to maintain the board state to pave the way for your victory!
