I love Esper Control! I experimented with aggro decks for a while, but now i am back to my first true love.

This variation of esper utilizes many board sweeps and planewalkers, with minimal counterspells to control the game.

Getting threats out of their hand before they hit the board with Thoughtseize is one of the reasons i don't rely on Counterspells. I don't like to play reactionary. I prefer to be proactive. To know my opponent's hand and remove that key card before it hits the board is crucial. It gives me an idea on what my opponent is planning and what I should be planning for the next few turns.

It was a tough decision to remove Azorius Charm from the deck completely, as I had so relied on it throughout the previous standard rotation. Nine times out of ten I would end up cycling it, not using it to bounce a creature. I figured with all the Temples I would not have to worry that much about cantripping to find my land drops. Also more efficient spot removal making charm less important
