I'm not sure who to credit for the initial discovery of this combo. Ivan Jenn or 'The Doctor.'
Here's what I do know. First I'll state the obvious; Wizard of the Coasts prints the cards and it's up to us to read them.
Ivan Jenn or The Doctor, either way, I'm a huge fan of the mechanics being used to create an infinite loop (especially in Standard). Sooner or later though, this combo is uber fun, and in plain sight for it not to be discovered by others.
That said, and credit for the build given. I'm a huge fan of the cards chosen to make this build effective. What impressed me is how efficient and versatile the build is. And to that I say great Build Ivan/Doctor.
Here's my updated build. Mind you, this build is very complex and needs to be piloted well. This deck is extremely fun to play too, win or lose. AND, also competitive.
Use Day's Undoing once you spent your hand. The combo is nice if you can achieve it, but not always needed to win. Jeskai Ascendancy will take care of the win for you. (those who play ascendancy will understand what I mean). What I tend to do is use Spring Leaf as a mana source, or Retraction Helix as a removal spell if i'm not able to go infinite.
