Maybe some dual lands and fetches? this manabase doesn't lose instantly to blood moon but is color screwed very easily. beyond that this is a super cool deck, and i'd love to see it in play.

Hallowed Fountain Glacial Fortress Temple of Enlightenment Prairie Stream and Celestial Colonnade being notable on color duals? if you want to keep this budget i'd reccommend prairie stream and glacial fortress. beyond that any of these are reasonable cards to look into for the future anyway.

Will definitely try it out and see if it fits, how do you think the deck looks overall?

It looks pretty cool. I would personally go for control, but the way you have it works very well too. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a modern spirit deck.

Yeah the only real reason I didn't opt for control is because a friend of mine is working on a build for it.

Your sideboard is missing some stuff - Spirits have some fantastic hate cards. Kataki, War's Wage vs affinity, Eidolon of Rhetoric vs storm, Kira, Great Glass-Spinner vs removal, Spirit of the Labyrinth, Windborn Muse, etc. Most of your main deck looks solid, although I'd find a couple more Geist of Saint Traft if you can (that card is way too good not to play 4). Nebelgast and Anafenza are the weak links IMHO, but it's not like there's a ton of great options out there - maybe Bygone Bishop for late-game gas. +1 from me!

Hey, I've been brewing a similar deck and I'm really glad to stumble upon this. There are already some really good suggestions on the previous comment but check out my version as well: Relentless Spirits (ENM Modern). If you go a little heavier on the creatures I think you could make a good use of Adaptive Automaton as I did.

Anyways, I really dig the Detention Sphere and may try the Azorius Charm as well. Also, initially I had Essence Flux but decided there's not enough ETB triggers, and with Kira, Great Glass-Spinner and all the other creature protection it felt like an overkill.

Hope the deck comes out strong, I'm slowly gathering the cards for it and it's going to be my first actually owned modern deck!

At this rate I should probably look into a playset of AEther Vial with all of the 3 cost creatures these decks run.

I have also been making a deck like this recently. and when i saw your deck i said "aw man now it looks like i copied someone" :D. But other than that i really like the new spirit modern idea because there is potential. Although i noticed that this deck gets rekt against Ad nauseum decks unless you have something like Eidolon of rhetoric to slow them down. Spell queller sadly cannot do anything against ad nauseum itself.

That is something to consider, never thought of it because I have yet to play someone in my area who runs it. +1 for the heads up though.

Also yeah, there isnt much room for these decks to work with to be completely honest.

since your lords give hexproof you might want to consider Phantasmal Image. might be better than spirit of the labyrinth

but Ojutai's Command is sooooo good with Selfless Spirit and Mausoleum Wanderer! also Remand.

noki Mausoleum Wanderer almost single handedly crushes Ad Nauseam. Sure they can pull of the combo but they don't often have mana floating to force through Lightning Storm and instead rely on using Simian Spirit Guide for that last bit of mana and Pact of Negation to do the pushing, which has no effect on the Wanderer.

I'd also recommend staying away from things like Phantasmal Image and Adaptive Automaton as I personally they just aren't impactful enough to justify the non-synergy with Rattlechains.

Kataki, War's Wage and Kira, Great Glass-Spinner are nuts. Kataki is good enough to be the artifact hate of choice for such decks as creature toolbox and D&T. Kira is good enough for Merfolk and even though spirits have Drogskol Captain I like have a lord that protects itself as well. On the topic of legendaries and Kamigawa, a single Eiganjo Castle could be a nice way to protect Geist of Saint Traft or the aforementioned hate spirits against things like Pyroclasm when you don't have a Selfless Spirit.

Lastly, I would personally suggest going with either some counterspells and take the tempo faeries route or stick to mostly creatures and try nabbing some AEther Vials. The build does change a bit with each. On the tempo side of things, Ojutai's Command can legitimately feel like Cryptic Command at times and with sac spirits like Mausoleum Wanderer and Selfless Spirit, it's just too good to ignore. On the Vial side of things, Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit is much more viable and Phantasmal Image also becomes plausible as the flash issue is solved.

I do have to mention that Windborn Muse feels super sweet. Absolutely hoses decks like zoo and in my testing, proved crucial in measuring up to decks like Affinity and Infect. My primary deck has been a mono white enchantment deck and seeing Ghostly Prison on a flying stick makes me smile. :)

Last note, if budget is no concern, a pair of Cavern of Souls are virtual auto-includes in any tribal known to man. Card's good enough to support tribals in eternal formats. If you can afford it, gotta do it.

I'm digging the list. Keep it up. Modern has been settling down lately and hopeful these recent additions can bring a new force to the modern meta.

Now that I think of it, I didn't consider the wanderer being such a threat against ad nauseum for some reason. But Now that I think of it, the wanderer could counter all these draw spells like sleight of hand and serum visions early game, however i'm not sure if its just better to save it for the game breaking cards. But even so thx a bunch for the advice Happymaster19

Depends on the deck. Against something like Ad Nauseam, you can just play the Wanderer early and then just stockpile spirits to pump and then counter the kill card. Let them cantrip and do all the digging they want. You can just pop what they dig for.

vaelran On the topic of Wanderer, I'd really consider 4x. And trimming some of those Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit and maybe even 1x Geist of Saint Traft just because the legend rule. It could open you up to things like a main deck Kira, Great Glass-Spinner and Phantasmal Image or even tempo spells.

replace Cancel with Dissolve

Or Mana Leak? Also AEther Vial feels pretty meh with only 20 creatures. I think for that type of build, you want closer to the 26-28 range.
