Welcome to a super budget modern deck that is... surprisingly reasonable. The deck is a litle hit or miss, but it was initially built as a budget MTGO deck that started to (surprisingly) win at a reasonable rate (I've seen Death's Shadow decks, Tron decks, U/W control decks, Affinity, and Storm so far and have been 40-60% in each, though it's admittedly been a small sample size).

The deck plays out in a fairly straightforward play pattern. You roll out some early creatures and cantrip your face off. There are some interesting decisions to be made on when to play some spells/swing, but generally: swing early and swing often. Most of our spells are instants so that we can wait until combat to cast them (or cast them in response to an opponent's move). If there's an opportunity to cast Mutagenic Growth, it's almost always right to do so. As games progress, our opportunities grow fewer and the closer and faster we can get an opponent into bolt range, the happier we'll be.

Some of the most important cards in the deck:

  • Opt and Sleight of Hand give us some card selection and pump up our prowess creatures.
  • Dispel and Siren Stormtamer are there to largely protect our creatures. Siren isn't great on its own, but as a wizard it does enable Wizard's Lightning and does present a deterrent for targeted spells.
  • Soul-Scar Mage has prowess, turns on Wizard's Lightning, but most importantly does a killer job of shrinking enemy threats. Fine, if I bolt your Tarmogoyf, it's going to survive... but it's going to be a 0/1
  • Adeliz, the Cinder Wind is a little expensive for the deck, but she is a hasty flyer who effectively has prowess and pumps up all our other creatures pretty intensely.
  • Unclaimed Territory is pretty garbage when we're trying to cast a bunch of instants, but all of our creatures except for Siren Stormtamer are humans, and this is a budget build... so it's fairly helpful for casting our creatures.
... needs a lot of work.

Anyway, I'm looking for any and all feedback! It is a budget deck, but I'm happy to move out of that area eventually (I have a fairly extensive collection, so this doesn't need to be budget). I'm particularly interested in sideboard help, as I know the sideboard is currently a (huge) mess.
