TheAlexGnan: Yeah Blanchwood Armor is an excellent card and super fun to run in a more casual deck. Enchatment-wise I've also been thinking about Canopy Cover since it works so well with Dauntless Dourbark.
ondrejdvorak: Thanks man!

I will try this. The only doubt I have is that I have never seen this deck around, maybe it means something...

luke1: Yeah most people are very surprised when they go up against Treefolk. You'll definitely enjoy playing it

This is sweet man. Kind of want to build it to screw around with at the shop. Nice job.

What about adding some two colored forests and add Rite of Consumption or Fling? Considering the preposterous power that Dauntless Dourbark and Dungrove Elder can reach that may be a win con.

@luke1: That's a really good idea. A lot of times this deck has trouble pushing through late damage, especially vs control decks that slowly stabilize and take over. I'm gonna test out Essence Harvest, since by the time I have those creatures out I have plenty of mana, and it could also help vs burn and aggro. Awesome suggestion!

Why is Pit Fight in here? Doesn't Prey Upon do the exact same thing or is there a reason you might need it to attack another creature you control that I'm not seeing?

Probably creator oversight. No one can remember every card at all times. And being that it's a common, and not widely played in competitive (ala Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares), it probably never crossed the mind. It's a good suggestion I think.

Also I was thinking Cavern of Souls would be a good addition as well. I know they are expensive but I was thinking 1, maybe 2, would be helpful especially to get cards out against control decks.

@Conflict: I run Prey Upon mainboard, so I definitely know it exists. I put Pit Fight in the sideboard exclusively to deal with infect. It can work around Apostle's Blessing very well.

How does Pit Fight get around it? It's still going to count as Green.

That's not the point. It's instant speed, and they wont be able to cast Apostle's Blessing once they've tapped out for pump spells. It's mainly to beat Blighted Agent.

Gotcha! I couldn't see the point in Pit Fight before but that makes sense since a couple weeks back an infect deck wrecked my face lol. Any thoughts on Cavern of Souls

I think I'm gonna test Cavern of Souls as a one-of. i don't want too many since not having green mana for non-creature spells could be bad.

I decided to add one to it. I was thinking about 2. One for Treefolk and 1 for Shamans but only 1 creature card isn't Treefolk so I went with one. I figure it will be super helpful against control decks which are played a ton at my local magic shop.

I don't know if you've considered this already, but in my treefolk deck i find that Unstoppable Ash couples really well with Treefolk Harbinger, as when Unstoppable Ash dies Treefolk Harbinger's effect goes off again. Just a thought, love the deck.

I would say cut both your Primal Bellow for 2 more Vines of Vastwood. Vines just has so many applications in Modern, it's more versatile than Bellow. The number of times when Vines will be worse than Bellow is far, far, fewer than the number of times Vines will be better.

@OpenFire: I agree, on paper Vines of Vastwood is the better card, but Primal Bellow flat out wins games. A lot of the time this deck has trouble pushing through for the last few points of damage, and Primal Bellow can deal absurd amounts of damage. Additionally, the casting cost is really important. Playing 4 copies of a card that essentially in a lot of match ups that costs 2 mana for 4 extra damage isn't really worth it. I really appreciate the input though, thanks!

I like the deck. Any thoughts about running Heartwood Storyteller or Sapling of Colfenor to keep the Treefolk rolling and pumping up Dauntless Dourbark and Dungrove Elder? Wickerbough Elder might be a more offensive substitution for Beast Within, even though you'd limit the range of removal options.

Thanks man. I definitely prefer Beast Within over Wickerbough Elder because it's only 3 mana, and can be cast at instant speed. The elder also could potentially be removed before I even activate the ability. It's just a little too clunky for my taste. Sapling of Colfenor is an awesome card, but doesn't really do enough at 5 mana. Treefolk is a very midrange deck and doesn't really have time to cast 5 mana creatures that don't offer an immediate impact (something like Timber Protector). Heartwood Storyteller is super good, and I think I will put in in the sideboard. he used to be in the main deck but I scratched him for I think Sakura-Tribe Elder. Thanks for the suggestions!

as 12x shaman in this deck, maybe running Sachi, Daughter of Seshiro could give you a little more mana ;)+1 nice deck btw
anonymousperson184 says... #1
TheAlexGnan It could work. Problem is, a lot of cards rely on having forests in play all the time (Dungrove Elder, Dauntless Dourbark, Primal Bellow, etc), and not having green mana early game could set me back a lot. That being said, it definitely could be powerful vs tron. I'll try it out, thanks.
