This is my take on a competitive 1v1 or pod-style Derevi deck. The deck has a level of control with Derevi, Gaddock Teeg, Winter Orb, Meddling Mage,Blind Obedience, and Meekstone. These cards allow me to limit what is being played each turn. I then use my tutors and Birthing Pod to get a solid board state and sweep in with Hornet Queen + Craterhoof Behemoth for the win, but I have won other ways as well.

Getting a solid hold of the game by turn 3 is my goal. The rest flows out naturally and accelerates rather quickly. Derevi himself is annoying to most, because you can't keep him off the board. He keeps coming back and he has good value. Cards like Panharmonicon bring extra value to the ETBs of this deck and any deck really.

There is enough removal such as Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, and Supreme Verdict to keep other players in check in the early game, while finishing with Angel of Serenity and/or Grasp of Fate to remove their biggest threats before going in for the kill.
