Roiling Terrain would certainly be a nice finisher for when creatures won't cut it, a sideboard card at the very least. I can't believe I didn't think of Tectonic Edge or Ghost Quarter before now, though, they're so good with Countryside Crusher AND they're solid LD cards.
the point of this deck isn't just straight up "18 Stone Rain s" LD though. I've built plenty of those using the other cards you suggested and I wanted to do something different this time. So, much as I love Avalanche Riders , I probably won't be adding them

what do you think of adding white for things like Flagstones of Trokair , Lightning Helix , and Boros Charm ?

Alright, seems like you've got a good idea of what direction you want to take this awesome deck. The Deus is a pretty sweet creature, though. Good luck with your endeavors!

I don't think you should stretch your mana base like that. Fetch and shock lands are the best way to ensure consistent multicolor fixing and they are very expensive..

If you want double strike on your finishing creature, like Boros Charm provides, I would just go with Assault Strobe , Runes of the Deus , Double Cleave , or Armed / Dangerous .

I was mostly thinking of white for Flagstones of Trokair 's ability to create a little asymmetry with things like Bust and Wildfire . But you're right, it would probably be too expensive and inconsitent.
thanks for all your advice :)

Any time. Man do I wish modern-staple lands were easier to get a hold of. The fact that lands can constitute 60% or higher of a deck's price turns many people away from this fantastic game.

A touch of ramp and Plow Under is pretty mean. Depriving them of two of their lands, making them draw and replay one of them and then Wildfire -ing another four is pretty savage. Especially considering they have to draw and play the other one, which you can promptly remove.
Also, Vexing Shusher seems like a good side-board if you want to be able to consistently cast some of these things against control.

Amulet of Vigor could come in handy for some of the fetch land

Plow Under , another of my favorites. Good idea, and a very nice setup for Wildfire .
I haven't thought much about the SB much (I msotly play casual so SBs are somewhat unheard of) but I think Vexing Shusher and maybe Wreak Havoc would be good options

Hi i love LD decks and looking to move into modern so i was looking for deck ideas and found this look fun but can you give a run down of how you attempt to play it or the perfect hand to keep

this looks like a blast. i love LD and have played with modern builds but its always too slow. i really want to build something that maximizes synergy between Boom and Darksteel Citadel

I thought about that but citadels end up screwing up your mana base too much.
I did have a deck a while back that used Timber Protector to maximize use of Boom/Bust . It was pretty hilarious but also incredibly slow.
This deck can get going by around turn 4 or 5. Still a bit slow for Modern, but faster than any LD deck I've ever built.

Coolest land destruction combo I've ever seen: Spreading Algae + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth . Think about it.

I've considered that deck, I have a buttload of Urborgs from the Future Sight days. I was gonna do the Spreading Algae combo and win off of Mire Boa beats lol
This deck doesn't run any black, though, so I can't see running that combo in it. Thanks for the comment though

Molten Rain and Tectonic Edge might be useful. You may also want to consider Mwonvuli Acid-Moss , Avalanche Riders , Deus of Calamity , Roiling Terrain and Ghost Quarter . Boil would fit nicely into your sideboard. All in all, you have an amazing deck here! +1
