Welcome all to a competitive enchantress deck for the modern format!

Let's get right into it with card choices. Our deck is going to be obviously based around our two main girls for the format, Mesa Enchantress and Verduran Enchantress.

First we'll start out with our cards to help our enchantresses get out faster. Being that this isn't legacy, we're running on three mana enchantresses that are stuck on creatures. To get these out a bit faster, we have Utopia Sprawl and Fertile Ground, of course using enchantment ramp to trigger our enchantresses if we draw them later on.

Next, we need something to protect all our enchantments, as well as our enchantresses. Greater Auramancy fills this well, (Note: Using Rancor on your enchantress protects it with Auramancy.) as well as a preferably sideboarded Aspect of Mongoose.

Now, our enchantments to control and slow our opponent until we can use our wincons. We have a LOT of choice here, this is where the bulk of the deck goes. Personally I went with: Ghostly Prison, Story Circle, Runed Halo, Journey to Nowhere, and Oblivion Ring.
Other worthy choices include Stony Silence, Aura of Silence, Suppression Field, Faith's Fetters, Choke.

Lastly, we have our Wincons. Sacred Mesa, Luminarch Ascension, and Sigil of the Empty Throne are all wincons that work well with our deck. I chose the first two, however Sigil could have it's place as well.

Of course, we have a two of Idyllic Tutor to grab any enchant we specifically need, or to grab a win-con.

These are cards that you can use in place of my personal choices, or run them as sideboard.

Aura of Silence: Good vs enchantment and artifact heavy decks while still giving us draw. Good disruption against them as well.

Choke: Necessary against any deck with lots of islands. Drawing, while shutting the enemy out of the game.

Aspect of Mongoose: If the enemy has too much creature control, this is a must. Our enchantresses are important.

Stony Silence: Self-explanatory, shuts down those pesky affinity decks.

Story Circle: I like to keep an extra or two in sideboard, in case you're facing a multi-color that has threats from more than one color, or really need to get it out.

Suppression Field: More hate for affinity, splinter twin, or anything with activated abilities.

Sigil of the Empty Throne: Alternate win-con, if you would prefer this over Luminarch or Sacred Mesa.Wrath of God: Good choice versus decks that are pulling out lots of creatures, or decks that run hexproof/shroud like us.

I'm still currently testing out this deck, but here's the theoretical matchups, and how well you'll do. (Backed up by the testing I've managed to do so far.)

**Aggro:** This is perhaps our best matchup. With Journey to Nowhere, Ghostly Prison, Runed Halo, and Oblivion Ring mainboarded, you can protect yourself until you are able to lock the game down into your favor. Rarely even need to sideboard.

**Combo:** This will be our weakest matchup, we don't have disruption or counters to deal with a combo deck until we sideboard for the necessary cards. Even after sideboard, it's a 50/50 chance to beat them, be careful. (Note: The exception is Splinter twin, with 4 mainboarded Ghostly Prison and Greater Auramancy, they have a very hard time against us.)

**Control:** Starting off, we are a bit weak against control. They can pick out our enchantresses before we can protect them, and put the game in their favor. After sideboarding we're a bit stronger. Good things to go for include Choke and Aspect of Mongoose.

**Tempo:** We're rather even with Tempo decks. However you do want to sideboard afterwards, which will usually bring the game to your side. Good choices here include Leyline of Sanctity vs burn heavy decks as well Aspect of Mongoose vs tempos with a little more counterspell.
