The Idea

When Scheming Symmetry was revealed in M20 I got the Idea to make MILL great in Modern (again?)!

With the synergy of Scheming Symmetry and Archive Trap allowing us to mill our opponent for 13 cards for {B} I think the golden age of Mill can finally be achieved! But I need your help to achieve this.

The Origin

I took the Decklist of Buur that made it to the Top 8 with U/B Modern Mill and changed some things to fit Scheming Symmetry and Thought Scour in it.

Unfortunately my deck lacks options to get rid of Artifacts and Enchantments and some Counter would be nice too, so it can handle some combos.

Updates 2020

With some time between the last tournament I attended and 2 new Sets in between I wanted to give the Opportunity to make Mill Great in Modern (again?) another try.

From what I've seen so far there was some nice Support in Eldrain in Merfolk Secretkeeper and Drown in the Loch.

I updated the Mana Base with Castle Vantress and Oboro, Palace in the Clouds

As Meta moved one I want to try other ways of not getting on 0 Life Points to early and removed some Ensnaring Bridge and added some Jace's Phantasm

Combos and way to win

• Scheming Symmetry (while not having Archive Trap in Hand) to put it on top of our own library (Chance exists that opponent also puts a Keypiece of his Deck to the Top in Match 1) + Thought Scour to draw it and then cast Archive Trap for {0} to mill him 13 cards.

• This Deck has the theoretical potential to mill 52 cards of the opponent's library in Turn 1! With a 60 card deck and 7 in hand he has only 1 card left (if there is nothing like Emrakul, the Aeons Torn in his deck that lets him shuffle his graveyard back into the library) The perfect opening hand for this would be: Swamp/Darkslick Shores/Watery Grave/Polluted Delta + Scheming Symmetry + 4 Archive Trap + Surgical Extraction

• Mill Enough to get Jace's Phantasm be a 5/5 Flyer and maybe the Opponent has no answer for flyers (anymore)
