Dreno33 Gah, I traded away my 4th Thoughtseize to get a couple cards for this deck. ( I had to do a lot of trading to get the cards I needed to lessen the damage to my wallet lol) However those are pretty cheap and easily attainable cards. I'll have to try those out. Other than that it looks pretty sound? I may try to look into getting 1-2 Mana Confluence. After playtesting quite a bit my mana is MUCH smoother and consistent than I expected. However being able to add 1-2 of those and take out 1-2 Sandsteppe Citadel will speed it up a little bit. Thoughts?

not Mana Confluences, but add Llanowar Wastes instead. That way you can still use it when it comes into play for the speed but still have the option to not take damage if you already have other green sources.

Maybe an Utter End or 2 instead of Banishing Light? There's been a lot of main deck enchantment hate lately, atleast on MTGO, so it feels like Banishing Light is not really in a great place.

Dreno33 So what i've come to notice is that I need more Black sources. And that I might need to drop Hero's Downfall. So I need to figure out what to put in for black sources. May end up making some Green sources into Llanowar Wastes and putting in some more removal by putting in Utter End. Thoughts?

just run 2 Temple of Malady and take out 2 Temple of Plenty plus your mana chart is too far off. You need to rearrange some numbers there.

Considering the metagame at the moment, not to mention your problems with getting enough black mana sources... I'd just replace Hero's Downfall with Murderous Cut. That card costs a single black mana at least 80% of the time, not to mention that Elspeth, Sun's Champion has gotten a lot less important than it used to be, meaning that Hero's Downfall's usefulness has decreased somewhat.

Yeah, Hero's Downfall is coming out. It didnt fill the role I wanted it too.

Im not really sure that's a good enough reason. Drawing my opponent to use cards like spot removal against Warden and not other creatures in my deck or myself. I'd like to hear a more detailed reason.

Really not sure what changes I'd make to fit Warden of the First Tree in here...I really don't think you need it.

The reason Warden of the First Tree is bad is that most of the time, you devote 7 mana over 3 turns to a 3/3 trample lifelink, then it dies for around 2 mana. That is some crazy slow stuff on your part, basically letting your opponent spend 2 mana and get 3 Time Walks.

I made the change for Sylvan Caryatid last night. I had 4x wardens in there in it's place. But decided to go full mid range instead of the hybrid aggro/mid range thing I had going on.

The trick with Warden of the First Tree is to use him just as a vanilla 3/3 until you have nothing better to use your mana on... swinging with a 3/3 on T2, then deploying a second threat on T3 will keep the game in your favor, while not overextending your boardstate...His last 2 abilities are definitely only for use on opponent EoT IMO....But he is definitely not that bad...and there is no way killing him is any way relatable to casting 3 Time Walks. That is simply ridiculous.

Well I'm glad to hear that the way the deck sits looks a lot better. I definitely feel like it will work better. But now I have to assess my land base with the changes I made. Any suggestions?

Except for Thoughtseize, you have no 1-drops....I'd use more tap lands for less painful fixing.

You've already got a full set of Sandsteppe Citadel an a couple temples, but I'd add some more of those in place of the pain lands...Temple of Malady and Temple of Silence.

You'll end up with 12 tap lands and 13 untapped lands...that should be totally fine for you.

So I might try to run with this land base until I can get some Temple of Malady. Their card price is a little steep for me right now. So i'm gonna try to trade for some. But I agree. I need more scry lands in their right now for thinning out my deck a bit. Especially considering im committing more to the mid range and not the aggro now.

The mana base for this is fine, especially with caryatid.

Why no hornet queen? She's really important because she can function as a 5 for 1.

Good point. Hadn't thought of putting her in here. What should I take out for her?
