Creatures:
Sylvan Caryatid - a 0/3 hexproof mana dork. He can block, produce mana, and won't fall victim to spot removal. He does everything you need a 2-drop do in this deck.
Courser of Kruphix - If you don't know why this card is amazing you must either be new, or you've been hiding under a rock for the past year. He can dig through your deck quicker, and even gain you life. not to mention he's a hella-good blocked being a 2/4.
Sagu Mauler - A 6/6 trampler with hexproof? yes please! the fact that he has morph is just a plus. I wouldn't morph him against a deck with a lot of removal unless I could flip him the next turn if need be though. I know a lot of decks like this prefer Prognostic Sphinx instead, but I find the hexproof to be much more relevant than flying in most situations.
Planeswalkers:
Kiora, the Crashing Wave - I will be the first to admit that I totally underestimated this card when I first read it. I didn't realize it was good until I seen it in play, and even then I didn't give her enough credit until I tried her for myself. She can protect you from your opponents biggest threat until you're able to draw something to get rid of it. Her interaction with courser is great as well. You'll almost always know what card you have on top, so you won't waste her -1 ability on something you don't need. Her -5 ability gives you a massive 9/9 creature every. single. turn. and it isn't hard to achieve on top of that.
Liliana Vess - I love Liliana for her tutor ability. plain and simple. her +1 can also be great if your opponent has cards in hand or if you desperately need delve fodder. I admit, she isn't that great against aggro matchups, but she can just be sided out for more removal. I have a feeling this standard is going to shape up to be a very midrangey format anyway. But, if you do have her out and you're able to pull off her ultimate, it can easily be a game changer against creature decks.
Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver - Ashiok is another card that I never paid much attention to until I started seeing her played. There's no better feeling than dropping her and +2 only to reveal your opponents big threats. Next turn, you're able to play one of their own creatures against them.
Garruk, Apex Predator - I loved this card since the day he was spoiled. 7cmc is a little hefty, but perfectly reasonable when you're running 24 lands in a courser/caryatid shell. For the utility this guy provides he's worth every bit of mana you need to play him. destroy their planeswalkers, make 3/3 creatures with death touch, or blow up their big guys and gain huge chunks of life. not to mention when you ult him it's pretty much game over if you have any creatures on the field. unless of course they have enough removal or a board wipe. That late in the game it's not likely though.
