Your goal is to control your life total until you can play Phyrexian Unlife and Melira, Sylvok Outcast.Once the two of them are out, you don't really care about where your life total is, and can merely switch life totals. Do this with Soul Conduit or Repay in Kind.

Everything else will help you control the field and neutralize threats until you can switch life totals.

Note: The Maybeboard is what I like to run for fun but is not entirely Modern Legal. I replace 2 Unmake's with Reckless Spite, Tectonic Edge with Glacial Chasm, 1 Unmake with Near-Death Experience, and Fog with Midnight Charm .
