Karametra Enchantress

Commander / EDH*

IzzWizz

This deck is based on Melissa's from The Command Zone Game Knights #5.

I thought it was kind of weird that she excluded the Opalescence + Parallax Wave combo. After playing with deck for awhile, I've come to understand why someone would intentionally exclude this interaction. 1) It's extremely resilient. You're opponents need either mass enchantment removal (really uncommon), or 3 pieces of targeted removal to break it up. 2) It doesn't win you the game on the spot. You still need to kill everyone and if the life gain deck hasn't gone infinite but gained a few hundred life it's going to take awhile. 3) It's sort of hard to explain to people who haven't seen it before.

I have since cut both those cards for the Phyrexian Unlife + Solemnity combo. It's less resilient and therefore fits my play groups power level better. Thematically, it's also much closer to the decks pillow fort play style. Solemnity also doubles as hate for infect and Meren of Clan Nel Toth, both of which I've been running into a lot lately.

Since the last update, I've acquired Dragonlord Dromoka and Serra's Sanctum, although Savannah is still out of my reach for the moment. I've also finally decided to cut a land down and go down to 36, I haven't played the deck enough to see if that was the correct choice yet, so we'll have to see how it goes.

I'm trying out the Crackdown + Kismet combo wombo. I'll update after enough testing, but my hunch is this will perform almost as well as the parallax wave combo, because no one in my group plays tokens. I cut Faith Healer and Mastery of the Unseen these.

I'm still considering cutting sol ring, but much less so lately. As painful as the nonbo with stony silence is, powering out Karametra on turn 3 is way too good to pass up. Usually by the time stony silence hits the field, turning off your own sol ring is irrelevant, so it's staying in for now.

The current plan is to swap Shalai, Voice of Plenty in for Sigarda, Heron's Grace as soon as it becomes legal. Looking for a place to slot in Authority of the Consuls as well, but haven't decided what to cut for it.

This deck is going to be ported over to Bant using either Tuvasa, the Sunlit or Estrid, the Masked as the commander. I can't decide between the 7th Enchantress effect in the command zone, or adding some of the worse enchant land cards to ramp crazy fast with Estrid.
