This is my take on Simic Tribal Merfolk. Merfolk seem to have potential after Rivals of Ixalan was released and now i've been wanting to build a functioning deck with them. This deck is still a work in progress as new decks move into my lgs.

Did pretty good for me. almost lost the first round due to a bit of lifegain but other than that i won all my rounds. My lgs is pretty small and has some people come and go quite often so the amount of people there was common. With 3 rounds, me and another were tied for 1st and 2nd and decided to draw last round.

  • Round 1(Mono Black 2-1)- I dont really know what his deck was. He was a bit new to playing magic it seemed and had what looked to be a bit of a thrown together deck. He played removal such as Never / Return and Moment of Craving and creatures such as Ravenous Chupacabra. Other than this it was a larger amount of Deathtouch creatures. First game I had a misplay and didnt leave a 2nd blocker in case of removal and Moment of Craving my blocker. 2nd game i finished quick. I swung for lethal turn 5. 3rd game got 3 Deeproot Elites plus River Sneak on field and played creatures each turn after.

  • Round 2(U/W Approach 2-0)- These games i felt a bit bad for them. I was swinging for damage each turn and then used Spell Pierce turn 5 on Fumigate both games in order to win next round.

all in all a good night. cant wait to see what i can do next week against the other decks. B/W Vampire are popping up here and there so will be playing against them eventually. So far there's 3 of them so will have to see how i do.
