Legacy Land control. 32 lands 28 mana sources
Loam deck
.
Control the game with lands.
Academy Ruins
and
Hall of Heliod's Generosity
can help you get your
Exploration
s and
Crucible of Worlds
out, rather than just milling with dredge and all your
Exploration
s and
Mox Diamond
s and such in your bin, though really mox diamond is only really good in the first couple of turns, before you
Blast Zone
and
Engineered Explosives
to deal with enemy's board, with tokens,
Grindstone
s, tokens,
Argothian Enchantress
es and other enchantments, too. Alternatively,
Glacial Chasm
can stop tokens too, and can be looped indefinitely with an exploration out, too.
Punishing Fire
can take care of just about any planeswalker, as well as most threats the opponent can throw at you, partnered with grove of the brunwillows it can be looped and replayed turn after turn. The only thing that stops this combo is
Sulfuric Vortex
which isn't even played anymore thanks to the printing of
Roiling Vortex
- cheaper and punishes people for playing things like
Force of Will
,
Force of Negation
,
Force of Vigor
,
Massacre
, etc.
the tutors are really good in this deck -
Gamble
for a loam in a general case, then if I discard it I get to dredge the next turn. Against a painter's servant + grindstone|Painter deck it's perfectly viable, too, to gamble for a
Hall of Heliod's Generosity
or
Academy Ruins
too, what with their capacity to stop you from decking yourself as the primary strategy wants to do. Really, you can, though, find anything you want. A land, a spell, an
Elvish Reclaimer
, anything that might enhance your board, or disrupt the enemy.
Crop Rotation
or
Elvish Reclaimer
to sacrifice a land and get any land you want. You can find your
Glacial Chasm
against aggro/burn,
Bojuka Bog
against dredge,
Karakas
against
turbo depths
, etc. You could even, if you can't find any other way, pay mana and sacrifice
Riftstone Portal
to find any other land, and activate
Riftstone Portal
's 2nd ability. More ideally, you'll either mill
Riftstone Portal
or discard it to
Mox Diamond
, though, to get more out of it.
