I'm not crazy about Claws of Valakut. 3 mana in a deck as fast as this has got to be for something good, preferably with immediate impact, and it doesn't really give you that. If they have a chump blocker it does nothing for you, and it's an invitation to get 2 for 1'd. I'd much rather play the 4 Lightning Bolt personally. Same goes for Goblin War Paint in my opinion. You could add Ball Lightning or increase the numbers on your other stuff.

I think another cheap card that could make this deck better is Impact Tremors, if you are going to be playing small creatures like Flamekin Harbinger. It can possibly get a lot of damage by playing creatures. Also, for a burn deck, I saw this one that I actually made on my account, amerika00, which can kill you on the first turn. Although it works quite well, and can actually accomplish a first turn KO, all the cards (except lands) are illegal.

Thanks for the input! It's a lot better than you think it is. I suggest running some playtests against non-competitive tier decks. All of the deck's bombs have trample and Claws of Valakut allows you to punch through a stupid amount of damage with it, and the first strike protects Nova Chaser's low toughness. You're correct about inviting a 2-for-1, but this isn't meant to be played on a competitive scene where removal is much more prevalent. If your friend brought a deck full of Doom Blades and its many variants to the kitchen table, he's a jerk and you hit him so he doesn't do it again. Claws is a satisfying Timmy card with good synergy with the creatures and with World at War. If I were building for competition and wasn't working within the constraints of a $25 budget, I'd totally agree and you can bet Bolt and Ball Lightning would be in here.

Really like the look of this deck. As a one-mana alternative to Goblin War Paint you might consider Clout of the Dominus, since at one mana cheaper you're more likely to let the haste matter.

Yup that's a direct upgrade! Adding that for sure. Thanks man!

That makes the higher cost of Claws of Valakut less of an issue.

I recommend adding Battle Hymn in Maybeboard. If you combo the Battle Hymn, with Tempt with Vengeance and a creature with Dragon Mantle, you'll earn yourself a whooping win-con!

Never mind. I mixed myself with the other competitive deck you had. No use of Dragon Mantle... unless that's in the maybeboard too! (Akroan Style)

+1 for a great deck but I was wondering if you think there might be room for a few tricks like Temur Battle Rage for your Nova Chaser. Nova Chaser + Temur Battle Rage is lethal in 1 hit if you cleared the way. Or even Fling. Fling + Nova Chaser If you attack with chaser, who championed a Flamekin Harbinger, then fling him for 10? or more depending on your enchantments. With 5 mountains and Claws of Valakut on it can be a big wallop. Fling also turns your Hellspark Elemental into Lightning Bolt to get more utility out of them before they go to the yard. Both of those cards can give a win at instant speed or a surprise win in response to removal targeting your fatties.

That's an excellent suggestion! I'll do some playtests to see if I can squeeze it in!

Fling could also be used to just do 10 damage to someones face with Nova Chaser after he attacked or even if he can't attack due to his low health. It is definitely something to think about it lets you work around the decks weaknesses a little.

Hi again. I have a question The question is what would you add to make this deck a little more competive for say... A modern tourny? I don't have a modern deck and this one seems fun but I really to make people table flip.

If you want to be competitive without spending a ton and still want to maintain this burn aggro vibe, I'd check out the R/W aggro deck in my profile. This deck is designed for gimmicky fun. That one is designed to win. And fast.

I think Shared Animosity would be good for deck, especially for that Nova Chaser (if you don't mind the price...)

The Siege of Towers seen more like a win more card. Maybe add some more win con's like Vengeful firebrand.

The most aggressive deck I have seen in a while. Good job. +1.
May 10, 2015 12:59 p.m.
Thanks man! Yeah it's comes out of the gates hard. Not Tier 1/2 competitive RDW hard. But for the price, you get plenty of aggressive fun.

Would Messenger's Speed fit in here? i feel like Flaring Flame-Kin benefits from it a lot
May 10, 2015 1:20 p.m.
He gets trample when anything enchants him and the other 2 grant haste and a buff.
May 10, 2015 1:31 p.m.
You could try adding in Coal Stoker, Flamekin Brawler, or Grinning Ignus

Elemental Mastery is AMAZING on Nova Chaser and Incandescent Soulstoke. I actually considered it in the initial build. But it's a little more expensive than I want to go for ultra-budget. That said, it is an excellent addition for anyone that wants some extra shiggles.
Elemental Appeal is decent but I'd rather spend the mana on something else.
