Sideboard

This deck is a Green-White midrange deck, with a little black splash.

The main idea is to play value creature upon value creature while boosting them through Wilt-Leaf Liege s and Gavony Township s.

On top of that, the deck has spot removal, nice synergies and a great consistency that boosts the raw power of individual cards.

Creatures

Removals

  • Abrupt Decay is probably the best generic removal in Modern while Path to Exile is the best creature removal. 'nuf said.

  • Dromoka's Command will be a surprise for most of your opponents and can often offer you a 2-for-1 exchange. The +1/+1 counter can also offer a third life to your finks.

Manabase

Matchups

  • The Aggro matchups are our best, since we have creatures that come one turn later but are really beafier. Goblin Guides, Memnites or Monastery Swiftspears are no threat for us.

  • Exception is for fliers: Delver of Secrets   and the likes are threats, do not hesitate to decay/path them asap and, if you can't, chump block with birds or spirits while stomping on the ground.

  • The Burn matchup is tense: Eidolon of the Great Revel and Lightning Bolts hit us hard. Kitchen Finks and Siege Rhinos are your best friend here.

  • The Combo matchups are even. Always keep open mana for Abrupt Decay s or Path to Exile when you feel they could combo out, event if it delays your creature drop.

  • The Control matchup is ok: we have so many threats coming out it's hard for them to keep up. However, do not overcommit to the board when you already have a few threats out, so you can recover from board wipes.

  • BGx matchups are good, thanks to our Loxodon Smiter s and Wilt-Leaf Liege s that counter their discard hard.

  • Tron matchup is tough: if they survive long enough to get Karn Liberated or Ugin, the Spirit Dragon out, there's not much we can do maindeck.

Sideboard

  • First, I want to say sideboard is still subject to changes, I haven't had the opportunity to test this much so constructive and motivated feedback is most welcome.

  • Anafenza, the Foremost is there for simple graveyard hate while keeping up the beatdown.

  • Chalice of the Void is mainly there against combo but is also a real hoser to Burn/RDW/Soul Sisters/Boggles on 1 or Hatebears on 2.

  • Dragonlord Dromoka and Thrun, the Last Troll are obviously there against Control.

  • More Kitchen Finks are always good against Aggro/Burn.

  • Loxodon Hierarch can save your team from board wipes. The life gain is also good against Burn.

  • Mirran Crusader is the nightmare of Abzan, Jund and Infect.

  • Stony Silence is great against Affinity but can also shut down some artifact-based Combo decks.

  • Thoughtseize is great againt Combo and Control and help a lot against Tron.

  • Zealous Persecution is excellent against BW Tokens, Soul Sisters and Faeries.
