Here is my American Control Deck list, U/W is such a powerhouse and staple Control list, but i feel with all the aggro and devotion lists that people are running, I needed something more reliable then just supreme verdict that can handle the board state before i got hit for 12 points of damage on turn 3-4. So what do you do to kill those pesky pre turn 4 creatures? ADD THE BURNING FIERY PASSION OF RED. Anger of the gods is the only turn 3 field clear that hits almost every single 1-3 turn creatures and it exiles! No more whipping specters or pack rats! Give me some feedback and tell me what you guys think i should remove or add. Here are my Top reasons for adding Red.
1-Anger of the Gods is amazing vs Rabble Red, Green Devotion, and G/W. Which are three highly contested Archtypes at the current Meta.
2- Keranos, God of Storms, i cannot tell any of you how powerful this card is until you actually play with it, 3 damage to a creature OR player OR an extra draw every Draw step, Now that's what i call Value!
3-Stormbreath Dragon- Extremely good in the mirror match, also good vs G/W and any White deck for obvious reasons (Protection)
4-
Turn / Burn
- Controls version of Heros Downfall, hits Stormbreath, Blood Baron, Obzedat, Master of waves, any giant creature we cant normally kill. and has the ability to kill a creature turn 2 at instant speed or kill a mutavault.
5-Assemble the Legion-This card is honestly what made me call this deck America, Sending out the R/W Troops every single upkeep who are prepared and ready to die and fight for my cause really couldnt pass this one up for pun purposes, also is great vs the black match ups and any other devotion over run type deck. Is great after a post field wipe as they will just come back next turn. 'Merica.
6-Counterflux-Another good choice for splashing red as it stops mono blue's judges familiar and stops our mirror match from getting too far ahead with revs or other walkers. This is also is great vs the burn match up just in case Chandra does so happen to ult, we have an answer for that as well.
