Maybeboard

Deck made for the "Not Your Daddy's EDH #1: Pauper's battles, where the commander is only common/uncommon.

I've chosen to go with a grixis mix for this challenge. There are actually three main features within this deck.

First, There are a number of deathtouch creatures (including the commander) and first strike sources. There are also some deathtouch sources and creatures with ping abilities. This is meant to greatly deter creature assaults, or to have a relatively safe way to deal with very strong creatures (auras and instant buffs, infect, wither, trample) that you wouldn't normally suvive unscathed. First Strike + Deathtouch is great, and Deathtouch + 'Ping' is even better!

Second, is the big control element with a large number of bounce effects, counterspells, and kill spells. This is meant to slow down the onslaught while also picking off the big threats. This is also the only defense the deck has for dealing with enchantments and artifacts.

Third is the combo element. There are multiple creatures whose ETB effect can return instants from the graveyard to your hand, as well as spells/effects that bounce your own creatures to your hand. With the right pieces in play, you can have a limitless recursion engine. Adding a little bit of cost reduction even makes some infinite combos possible.

Originally, I wanted to focus purely on deathtouch and pinger-type creatures, but without adding a fourth color (green) there just aren't a lot of ways to grant deathtouch in a pauper format.

Combo Section

The infinite combo pieces include:
Ghostly Flicker, Snap, Cloud of Faeries, Archaeomancer, Izzet Chronarch, Goblin Electromancer, Nightscape Familiar

Using a combination of the above cards (not necessarily all) will result in an infinite mana generator as well as the ability to infinitely retrieve and recast and instant/sorcery. Generally this would be an instant win.

Some examples:Infinite mana used with Capsize can return an opponent's board into their hand, lands and all.
Recoil with infinite recursion can add discard to the bounce.
Lightning Bolt with infinite recursion would naturally destroy face.

The 'transmute spells' (Dimir Infiltrator, Drift of Phantasms, Perplex) work to help find combo pieces or to fetch an effective outlet for the infinite mana. This should allow for massive card draw if you have infinite mana and spell retrieval with a transmute spell on hand.

If you get infinite mana but don't have transmute or a spell that can destroy the opponent, you can also use the combo pieces to bounce a haste pinger like Vulshok Sorcerer for an instant kill as well.

Added some extra details to point out some of the combos in the deck, to make sure any pilot doesn't miss them.
