To A More Normal Build —May 25, 2015

Decided to go with a more standard style.

2x Aven Mindcensor

4x Squadron Hawk

4x Spectral Procession

Pulled:

3x Spirit Bonds

3x Secure the Wastes

4x Nyx-Fleece Ram

I also changed my mana base adding 3 Windbrisk Heights and 8 total fetch lands to help thin out the deck. In minimal testing it has run well but more has to be done to get a better idea of how well this will work.

May I suggest Norin the Wary for when he enters the battlefield and then is subsequently sacrificed due to legend rule, triggering the Soul portion of the deck. Also Secure the Wastes is an instant speed "X for good stuff" card here.

@ b287213 I have seen both of those in other decks that I have come across. Idk about splashing red for 1 card though it does combo amazingly well with the sisters. I like Secure the Wastes a lot and should probably put that in. What do you think I should pull? Abzan Battle Priest? Spectral Procession?

Hmm, I don't like spectral procession that much anyway. And, if you really want to splash red, take your pick from Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, and, though not for splashing, Genesis Chamber.

That definitely plays well with the sisters and tokens. You're giving me a lot to think about right now.

They're all kind of budget, and Purphoros is only a two of IMO.

Something more like this? R/W Sisters

Well, yeah actually. Though, I feel that Assemble and O Ring are too slow.

Makes sense. Lightning Bolt, Lightning Helix, Suture Priest or one of the 1 cmc creatures in there too. It's definitely pushing my budget but looks like it would be fun to play.

I've seen it work. And when it works, it works. I actually just put up a Jeskai version of the deck if you wanna take a look. You're making a mockery of my job!!!

That looks like a lot of fun. Could possibly put in Suture Priest to work the the Hunted Phantasm and smack them for 9 since he is unblockable.

I honestly just three it together. I loved Mirror Mockery so much. That will be the deck I build after tuning UG Tron

Tron is fun stuff. A lot of different builds you can do with it.

May 12, 2015 12:04 a.m.

Yeah. It's just buying the money cards is the problem.

Indeed. I try and build what I can under $100 and my max will usually be 2. Hard to stay competitive though.

May 12, 2015 12:07 a.m.

Nearly impossible actually. Though, stranger things have happened. Janky decks can really bite you.

Very true. Pretty common to see on here too. At least gives some ideas and ways you can tweak them for a lil more fun.

May 12, 2015 12:15 a.m.

See, fun and competitive don't work all the time lol. When I'm playing decks that I drop money for, I want to win, not just have fun. Though, I'd love to build a group hug EDH, that is a pretty long term project.

Ya, if I ever drop 4 or 500 on a deck, it had better be very competitive. EDH is a big investment.
