Sideboard

Maybeboard

Creature (2)

Hey! Thanks for looking. I'm pretty stoked on the GRN cards, so thought I'd try and make a standard deck that plays well with a bunch of them.

This is a Standard legal Izzet deck that I've playtested a couple times. It's still in the works. The main couple things here are the t3 Sarkhan, Fireblood + t4 Niv-Mizzet, Parun combo (which I actually go to do once!) and the Ral, Izzet Viceroy wincon, as well as the large amount of sorceries/instants that either control the board, burn your opponent's face or buff/interact with your creatures. It's very creature light. The sideboard is focused on adding additional tempo, if necessary. E.g. you can sideboard in some Unwinds or Negates against a deck that's not running many creatures in place of Beacon Bolt. Or if you need more burn or removal you could add in Expansion / Explosion + Lightning Strikes + more Beacon Bolts.

P.S. I'm pretty new to Magic, so let me know if you have any advice!

Update: Swapped in Banefire for Inescapable Blaze since it's more flexible mana wise (though it isn't an instant).

Currently under consideration: Enigma Drake: Fills a similar role to Crackling Drake, however, I think I like Crackling better since it synergizes with exiled jump-start instant/sorceries and gives card draw for just 1 more mana. Maybe there's space for both of them if you take out Wee Dragonauts? I guess the only downside is UURR is considerably harder to cast than 1UR (or even 2UR). Should be fine in this deck though, there are plenty of other turn 4 plays.
