I Think Introductions are in Order

Hello! The message you see here is the first update that i made of this deck. I thought it was a good introduction so i decided to add it here, hope you enjoy!

Hello! What you see before you is the skeleton of what i am hoping to be a fun and as-competitve-as-i-can-with-the-cards-included deck based around Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh !

Rograkh is very special in many ways. First and foremost he costs 0 mana which means that we can cast him at turn 1 (hopefully no one has a counterspell prepared so early). Secondly he has a fun combination of keywords; First strike, menace and trample. This combination of keywords gives us a good chance of dealing damage with Rograkh very early on, there's only one problem, he has 0 power! To counter this we have a variety of low to mid cmc cost equipments that is crucial to get out and equipped to Rograkh ASAP. To help with that we have Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist!

Ardenn and Rograkh very much work together and getting Ardenn turn 2 is very crucial and should be entirely possible with all the fast mana we have included. Ardenn freely equips any and all auras and equipments at the start of combat that means that if we get Rograkh and some equipments turn 1 means that we can equip them for free if we get Ardenn out turn 2, remember, both Rograkh and Ardenn are our commanders so it works perfectly!

The list you see here after the publication of this update is the stage where i call "Play cards that i think are cool", this is the proto-stage where i pick cards that i am interested in playing and fit the equipment theme that i'm going for.

To test this decklist i am playing with my pod of players. Just to be clear we are not physically meeting but are using Tabletop Simulator as a means to play online. Tabletop Simulator (TTS) offers both tables for various sizes (4-8 for example) and a deck reader that scans decks from all the popular decklist sites, such as Tappedout! I will be scanning this list and testing for the coming week or two and make changes according to what i feel does not fit in the deck.

Hopefully you will stick along the journey of tuning this deck as much as i can!

Lands; Straightforward, here are all the Lands that i have in the deck. I don't have any utility lands yet because i'm finding more ideas for the deck itself, will propably tune the lands last.
Tutors; All the equipment tutors that i have in the deck, can both get combat and protective artifacts. I think this section of the deck is final but every card is pretty uncertain at this early stage of deckbuilding.
Mana; All the mana rocks and fast mana that you would need, need the early mana for a good turn 2-3 with card:Rogakh, Son of Rohgahh
Protection; Hexproof and shroud and both of the runes cards to protect both Rograkh and Ardenn
Draw; Draw engines with ETB effects like this and this. Included in this category also are the wheel effects.
Utility; Good cards that work well with the overall theme like Sigarda's Aid and recursion effects like Sun Titan.
Combat; All the combat equipments and damage cards that you could imagine in an equipment deck like Colossus Hammer but also non-equipment cards like the classic combat-tricks like Aggravated Assault and Combat Celebrant.
Of course, as with every deck there are upsides and downsides to every deck and boy have i found a some strengths and weaknesses

Strengths Speed. This deck is super fast. With all the fast mana that we have and the fact that Rograkh costs no mana means that we are guaranteed to get him into play turn 1. This fact and the fact that our deck has a very low average CMC means that we should be pretty fast on our feet.

Weaknesses This deck cannot go against sacrifice decks. Sacrifice decks circumvent all the protection that we have. This slows our deck to a total halt and needs to be dealt with immediately

Updates Add

Hello!

For research's sake i have copied this deck and am trying out other partners to make Rograkh as fast as possible and as competitive as possible in a 4-player pod. Currently in playtesting this list has proven far superior in 1v1 games rather than in a 4-player game. This causes concern because i play almost exclusively in 4-player pods for a good time.

To counter this i have decided to copy this decklist and play around with other partners to give Rograkh an edge and for a moment that edge has appeared itself in the image of Tymna *f-etch*! One of the faults of playing boros is that our selection of tutors and draw is close to none, at least in such a direct way that i'm looking for. What mardu gives us is a good mix of colours that opens us for avenues like a Necropotence + Shimmer Myr combo for lots of draw and speed that hopefully gives more of an edge.

I will update both of the lists simultaneously; here is a link to the other decklist
