YEAH.
I think the straight U/B version of this deck has a lot of potential to attack the common decks in the modern meta-game right now, as well as to prove that milling can be more than just a joke.
Liliana of the Veil is back in, this time alongside Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
(who had previously usurped her spot). Any cards sent to the GY by the former's +1 activation can still be played with the latter's -3. Since most of the spells in this deck are sorcery speed anyway, that inherent weakness of the card is basically negated, and with an early crab or thought scour he usually flips the turn after coming out.
Thought Scour now outnumbers Visions of Beyond as the cantrip of choice for this deck, as the synergies with Tasigur and Jace give the card a lot more upside. Visions is too easily played around/turned off with good GY hate in games 2-3, though it is often a game-winner if it does resolve for 3 cards. For now it's a fun-of.
Ghost Quarter can make mana tough some games, but it's extremely helpful against Tron and has plays nicely with Archive Trap. Post-board, GQ + Surgical Extraction or Extirpate hits big mana decks hard.
Crypt Incursion
is now maindeck, and alongside new addition Ensnaring Bridge helps to stop decks like Burn or Affinity from stomping all over us. Spellskite comes out of the board for the more difficult Infect matchup.
GY-based Combo decks, Living End and the ever-abysmal Tron matchup suffer against the multitude of Extraction effect the deck boasts, which really help by stripping combo pieces early, exiling Tron lands or (very rarely) hitting a singleton Emrakul and letting me mill out the Tron deck.
It HAS happened.
Currently considering some number of Darkblast in the main and side to help shore up super-aggressive matchups, as the dredge effect can help to power out an early Jace flip or Tasigur in addition to taking out key creatures.
Always looking for tips so please help a miller out!
