Moltensteel Dragon is decent for the mana cost and obviously Dragon Broodmother would be bad ass in this sort of deck

Thanks for the ideas! Dragon Broodmother will definitely have a spot in the finalized version.

Technically, any deck can qualify as tribal if more than a third of your deck's creatures are the same creature type.

Thanks for the ideas! I'll be severely cutting the deck list to 100 cards (Sideboard having at most 10 cards) within the next couple of days. Once TO updates their database I can add in the few cards that are in the description.

I don't know if anyone else was thinking this, but what if Genesis Wave was tossed into this deck?
January 11, 2015 3:14 p.m.
Genesis Wave isn't a bad idea.. I'd like to play test the deck a bit more and see how well the mana base/ramp does. If it's consistently great, then I'll add in Genesis Wave and other large spells like Dragonstorm and Dragon Roost

A couple of fun new cards to think about...Frontier Siege and of course the mighty Ugin, the Spirit Dragon.

Another couple of non-dragon allstars that fit really well here are Feldon of the Third Path & Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker. Spot removal + wipes are a problem for this deck so the added recursion that Feldon brings is a welcome addition. Dare I say that he's better than Zirilan of the Claw for this deck in that you're not having to toss your dragons into exile and you can keep abusing effects from the likes of Balefire, Destructor, Valkas, Utvara etc (I would suggest throwing in a Hoarding Dragon for repeated artifact tutor shenanigans as well). Don't get me wrong, I think Zirilan is a great card, can tutor up threats as a finishing move (speaking of tutoring up threats, this deck is begging for a Tooth and Nail as well) and is most definitely on flavour but Feldon seems handier in my opinion. Mr. Kiki-Jeeks does similar tricks with your critters that are on the field already.
These were suggested to me as well and they've been awesome in the few play tests I've done, certainly worth considering.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it in mind.
Frontier Siege - 4 extra mana per turn? I'm in.
Ugin, the Spirit Dragon - So much removal on one card.
Feldon of the Third Path - I honestly didn't think this was a good card until I re-read it for this deck. Definitely finding a place for him. Also one of the most depressing cards in all of Magic in my opinion.
Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker - I thought about using him in the initial build and he didn't make the cut. I'll reconsider and see what stupid tricks can happen.
Zirilan of the Claw - I fully understand his downfall and will use him as you said, a finisher. I'll probably add in all the cards you suggested..
Tooth and Nail - Yeah.. I don't know why I didn't add this when I started building.
Thanks a ton for the suggestions Forkbeard. I'll probably be editing the deck for a couple hours now heh

Awesome, I hope the suggestions work out for you as well. Here's a few more dragons that I'm running that you might like as well:
So there's a few more ideas for you. I would say the "must adds" here are Hellkite Charger, Scourge of the Throne & Thundermaw Hellkite.

Have you thought of Breath of Fury and Seize the Day for multiple combat phases? I might tweak the deck a bit more to reduce the non-fliers. I'm not really looking into extra combat phases for this build, I already built a deck with that in mind.
January 19, 2015 2:04 a.m.
I hadn't, no. Interesting cards - If the conditions were perfect, a well timed Seize the Day with Atarka, World Render + Xenagos, God of Revels would be a fun way to take the table down.

also instead of say utility in the description say protection and add Lightning Greaves

Excellent suggestions! Sneak Attack is just what I was looking for.

Thundermaw Hellkite. Hasty, brutal beatstick that massacres 1/1 spirit tokens
January 27, 2015 10:16 p.m.
Yeah, I should add thundermaw. Thanks for the advice, I'll make room for it soon.

Elvish Piper is another great way to cheat them in.
Gratuitous Violence is a doubling effect that stacks.

Sorry, I was looking at my Green/Red deck and realized a lot of the cards I am using have great application in this deck as well.
Soul's Might, Overwhelming Stampede, Relentless Assault, Rush of Blood, Savage Beating, Soul Blast, Soul's Fire, and Mage Slayer to name a few.
Also, some mass trample effects like Primal Rage, Overrun, or Kamahl, Fist of Krosa, in addition to Nylea, God of the Hunt might not be a bad idea, just to make sure you have it when you need it.
February 3, 2015 2:20 p.m.
Elvish Piper: Not a bad idea. I'll probably switch that with Vexing Shusher
Gratuitous Violence Really not a bad idea..
Soul's Might Too costly
Overwhelming Stampede I'll consider this.
Relentless Assault and Savage Beating I'm really not trying to have multiple attack phases..
Rush of Blood Soul Blast Soul's Fire Trying to cut back on instants and sorceries honestly
Mage Slayer This looks interesting!
Thanks a ton for the ideas!

Looks pretty good so far to me, +1 to you. Keep it up, have fun burning and smashing peoples' faces in with those dragons!

idk if you're going dragon tribal, but if you are, you need more dragons, 17 creatures is too few to have
