This is my competitive Junk Good Stuff deck with a strong Flicker sub-theme. Give it a try!
Here is the breakdown by CMC:
1 DROPS:
Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek are the absolute best hand disruption cards. Very effective on turn 1 & 2 - great mid-game too. Keeping control of the game early on with hand disruption and permanent removal is key to the success of this deck.
Path to Exile, in my opinion is the best creature removal in Modern because of its low CMC and it exiling abilities. And the drawback is pretty minimal.
Cloudshift is the master flicker. It can be utilized in a wide variety of situations - to deal damage, gain life, dodge removal, dodge combat damage and bring cards back from the graveyard.
2 DROPS:Voice of Resurgence punishes your opponent if they cast spells on your turn. He is an amazing turn 2 card that needs to be answered when he hits the field.
Likewise, Scavenging Ooze gets rid of creature cards as they hit the graveyard. Very effective against reanimation.
I am running 2 Qasali Pridemage for its amazing utility. It's a good 2/2 creature with Exalted on its own - but its real value is its artifact / enchantment destruction abilities.
Abrupt Decay is an modern staple with its removal capabilities and its inability to be countered.
3 DROPS:Kitchen Finks can enter the battlefield and die four times, gaining you 2 life each time, with one flicker. This card is so strong and is at the heart of this deck.
Eternal Witness is fantastic on its own and even stronger in a flicker shell deck. Bringing ANY card back from your graveyard to your hand is ridiculously strong. Whatever you need that's in your graveyard you can now have! Thank you.
4 DROPS:As a 4/5 with Trample,
Siege Rhino
deals direct damage to your opponent and boosts your life as it come in and out of play. This guy is an absolute bomb!
Restoration Angel is a flicker god. A 3/4 flier with flash - it can turn a game in your favor right quick.
To get the most out of each creature, the primary intended recipients of the Flicker abilities (either from Cloudshift or Restoration Angel) are: Kitchen Finks, Eternal Witness, and
Siege Rhino
. In other scenarios, though, flickering can be used in a protective fashion on any creature to avoid removal.
Stirring Wildwood
can be used as a creature whenever the situation calls for it. The reach ability is nice against fliers too.
Sideboard is mostly about control with many options to deal with various deck styles in the format.
Creeping Corrosion
- an Artifact destroyer.Ghost Quarter - a land destroyer.Lingering Souls - use when flying is essential.Loxodon Smiter - against discard decks, can't be counteredMaelstrom Pulse - you know.
Obstinate Baloth
- against discard decks, with life gain.Qasali Pridemage - enchantment and Artifact destroyer
Suppression Field
- control.Timely Reinforcements - utilized against burn/aggro.
And that's my deck! What do you think? I would like to hear from the T/O community on this one.
Thank you kindly.
