I'm writing this highly caffeinated so bare with me...

My take on band spirits. It has more sustainability and long game value than the original list and has led me to consistent X-1/X-0 finishes at local FNM's.

It's best matches are against Skred Red (pre/post-board), Soul Sister's (post-board), and Mardu Nahiri (pre-board). Worst matches are against Tron, Naya Burn, and Affinity (pre-board).

The Hierarch's are a must unfortunately and so is the one of birds. You need to be able to drop a 3 drop on turn 2 and turn 3 Company.

4 Company is a little much for this deck since it does run a higher land count than most other midrange decks.

Ojutai's Command is the most underrated card in modern. The 1 and 2 drops in this deck are crucial to the long game plan of this deck so to be able bring back a Selfless Spirit or Rattlechains to protect your spirits is valuable. Against the control match, bringing back Mausoleum Wanderer to instantly sack it to counter a spell or make them waste mana to resolve an instant or sorcery is game changing if your command resolves. Not to mention, it can counter a creature spell, gain 4 life, or draw a card and you get to choose 2.
