First of all thanks for having a look at this deck! I started playing Magic around March 2014. Since then I've been learning different deck play styles which has lead me to build Ravinca guild decks each embracing the guild's playstyle but in a way that can actually work.These deck are only made with cards from Theros, M14 and RtR Blocks.
The idea about Boros:The Boros Legion is about attacking in numbers and using instant pump spells during combat to get more damage through. The mechanics of this deck aim to be aggro. Having multiple creatures out allows me to get damage through instant spells (if one gets blocked) or I can choose to kill the blocking creature with my pump spells. All creatures are disposable here, so protection is not an issue. I don't want this to be a boros burn deck
Late game in this deck = T4-7
Creatures Boros Elite - Okay on turn one for turn two damage. Shines towards late game for the extra boost and attention.
Akroan Crusader
- Great on T2 to swing in and with the red mana from turn 1, pump with the red instants to push more damage + gain a token.
Soldier of the Pantheon
- Great T2 damage or T2 play depending on your opening hand. Great damager even if you have no pump instants.
Vanguard of Brimaz
- Great card played at T2-4, Vigilancea + token gen during pump. This + tokens great for attacking but also killing blockers with pump spells to get rid of them.
Precinct Captain
- Good card played at T2-4 Doesn't usually gen a good amount of tokens and attracts alot of attention. This is good to either eat up a remove or burn spell or get rid of a blocker with pump because it has first strike.
Daring Skyjek
- Great card for its power and also late game evasion from the battalion trigger. Attracts attention like precinct captain which is great in killing blockers with pumps OR eating removal or burn. Also works nicely for a T2 play depending on your hand.
Boros Reckoner
- Great card for Late game and finisher to either kill blockers or push more damage through.
Spells
Titan's Strength
- An amazing pump instant and with scry 1. Wish there was more of this type of card actually.
Coordinated Assault
- Even though it does not push much damage, the first strike and targeting of two creatures allows for token gen via heroic and potential killing of blockers via first strike.
Launch the Fleet
- Simply an amazing card. Used T3+ can be a blow out with the amount of tokens it generates via heroic, giving more targets for pump spells.
Madcap Skills - Unsure about this one. Its an investment card due to the 2 CMC as an enchantment but a good one at that. However subjected to removal. Might have to side it out in certain matches.
Boros Charm - Bit of a mana sink BUT an absolutely great card. More of a late game card and a finisher with boros reckoner. 1st ability: closing the game out or applying pressure, Ability 2: rarely used but could be useful?, Ability 3: Great for getting rid of those fatties.
Mana base
Temple of Triumph - Great for the scry and mana fixingSacred Foundry and
Mana Confluence
- Not an option due to lack of fundingBoros Guildgate - Removed due to slowing down the deck.
token - Highly generated. Extra damage and extra targets for pump spells.
Suggestions are very welcome! But remember the objective here is to embrace the Boros playstyle and overwhelm them with numbers while using the power of izzet to push through.
