Why aren't you using wasteland?

smackjack says... #5

Because they are quite expensive

Question: What do you normally name when Cavern of Souls enter's the battlefield?

May 13, 2014 9:16 a.m.

smackjack says... #7

Magiclover318: Depends on the matchup, but usually i just name the creaturetype of the creature i want to play that turn. If i have no creatures in my hand i usually just name human since Mirran Crusader needs the extra coloured mana.

Magiclover318 says... #8

Yeah that makes sense, I noticed there were more humans, but I just was curious since there are a lot of different creatures :)

Its far better in a tribal deck. Here it could as well say "the next creature you play, and all other creatures with the same creature type as that creature cant be countered" :)

How are flagstones any different here than normal plains? How is spellskite doing anything different than mother of runes? Singleton aegis of the gods protects you from....what, even whilst being able to be tutored up? How is ancient den better than a normal plains? How come you have committed the crime of not running Flickerwisp and less than 4 thalia?

These are all questions that jump up at me when I look at the list

He uses Enlightened Tutor as a toolbox.

May 15, 2014 8:08 a.m.

Boza says... #13

I have not noticed that at all... since e tutor does not put the card in your hand, it is generally useless. Whatever you wanted to protect yourself with or prevent via any of the tutored cards, you can do it next turn at best, when it is too late.

Boza: Flagstones of Trokair renders Smallpox pretty much useless, and when playing your second one you thin your library. Spellskite protects all my creatures and also the 8 artifacts im running, Mother of Runes does not. The single Aegis of the Gods and Spirit of the Labyrinth are to be tutored for by Enlightened Tutor if i need them. Ancient Den is there to enable e-tutor to find a land if i ever needed to, and since it doesnt come in tapped, why not? Also, you can get the card you are tutoring for if you play the tutor in you upkeep, otherwise its a 1 mana instant that lets you decide what to draw the next turn. I wouldn't call that useless..

Man, I've always loved that white wheenie in legacy is actually a control deck, and one that has an obscenely strong game against house decks like Sneak and Show. Enlightened tutor as a toolbox is actually WAY stronger than you'd think. Against RDW, Aegis of the Gods + Mother of Runes = WIN, and it also beats down spells like Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek . Stoneforge Mystic into a Sword, Batterskull or Umezawa's Jitte can just beat aggro, as some decks can't handle Batterskull , and I have yet to see a deck have an easy win once Jitte starts getting counters. Jitte + Mirran Crusader will result in an instant win most of the time, as you're able to deal up to 16 damage in a single attack if Jitte already has counters on it.

The deck is such a blast to play, especially when you can use AEther Vial to flash in a Spirit of the Labyrinth in response to opponents Brainstorm , or Aegis of the Gods in response to their Hymn to Tourach . Even to flash in Phyrexian Revoker in response to Liliana of the Veil or Jace, the Mind Sculptor :).

I found a Devoted Caretaker today. Anyone thinks that could have a place in here? Maybe sideboard? She is not as good as Mother of Runes , but it does protect more than my creatures.

Not worth it IMO. If his ability was just T to activate, then sure, but I don't think he can justify the W. If the ability is really that useful, he could cost you WWW+ in a game, which makes him statistically worse with every use.

He's cool, but I don't think he has a home for Legacy :/

Hero of Bladehold combined with Champion of the Parish are one of my favorite combos for ww and you have a decent amount of humans already. Mirran Crusader is great esp with the jitte on him or against black or green. He'd be a sb for me personally. Maybe cut down a revoker to make room for them. Great ideas and plays fun. Thalia, Guardian of Thraben is such a jerk card

Thanks for your comment. I dont think Champion of the Parish is fit for this deck, as you should play him in an all human deck. Hero of Bladehold are an amazing card, but Mirran Crusader would be better in this deck because of the protection and double strike.

Do you ever play in Legacy GP's with this or anything? How does it do?

Kismet Might be fun.

Maybe Land Tax could help you against ramp decks.

Magiclover318 says... #25

I think kismet is too slow personally. Yeah Blind Obedience doesn't make their lands come in tapped, but, it's also a t2 play
