I play a very similar deck. After a lot of playtesting I run 3 Filigree Familiar over gate. Just more value in my opinion, early or late game :)

Smuggler's Copter is in just about every aggro deck and you have to have a way to stop it. Dropping a Skygate on turn 2 is a very successful way to control aggro decks.

I did it just well with Filigree and the rest of my removal too, just saying :)
- they tempt to go all out and don't expect the lifegain which really disrupts them and then they are a few points short each time.
Again I chose him cause he's more versatile.

He's a good card, but I still think a 2 drop 0/4 with reach is better, but if you have had success with him that is awesome! :)

Why think about defense? just shove the agro right back at them. Run Veteran Motorist they will take 3 every turn if they are swinging with the copter, which is just as much as they dish out, and it won't take an additional turn to crew.
think of this scenario, they can run a perfect hand of agro i dont care what it is take your pick. turn one, Authority of the Consuls that stopped a turn 1 hit. they drop a 1 drop creature you get a life, turn 2 you drop Veteran Motorist, they drop Smuggler's Copter they can't swing with anything without both sides dying, and if they do who cares its a couple life and it leaves them open to take 3. your turn 3 you can either Declaration in Stone or my favorite, Reflector Mage (you have to run blue over black) bounces their only creature back, their only option is to crew the copter before it goes back or take 3. either way win for you you already got a good use from your 2 drop and you can make the trade. their turn 3 they hit a kill spell or drop a creature, which won't help the copter because the creature comes in tapped, its a dead turn for them. turn 4 you hit Declaration in Stone + Tormenting Voice to drop a gear hulk. they play 2 creatures maybe on turn 4 or a haste vehicle if you didn't kill off your motorist already you can block and take the trade. your turn 5 you refurbish a Noxious Gearhulk or a Combustible Gearhulk and they are playing defense the rest of the game.
why waste a 0/4 on turn 2, they still get the card draw when it attacks. not good to come out of the gate back pedaling.

I like much of what you've done to the deck Maverik3 but I don't want to run a creature/vehicle based deck. This is a control deck. But it's definitely cool to see people's different takes and builds on this theme :)

Control decks rolls this deck hard. With that said this deck kept on beating my aggro and mid range decks. overall this deck performs very well, but it can't touch a good control deck.R/W AGGRO VS MARDU [2-7]MEAN GREEN VS MARDU [1-8]B/W CONTROL VS MARDU [15-1] _I kept playing until I won a game with the mardu _
this was fun testing. thanks

shawnluc - You are right about a weakness against control decks. It used to be stronger against control with cards like Long Road Home and Kambal, Consul of Allocation, but part of my design changes are due to the amount of aggro and midrange in my current meta. This deck can be successfully modified though if your meta is control heavy.

Have you tried Olivia, mobilized for war to bring those hulks back with haste?

BlackDeath22 - Not sure who StriclyBetterMtg is, but me and my friend Kenny Vinson came up with this deck idea the week following Kaladesh Prerelease messing with cards on my living room table. I posted this deck weeks after playtesting and refining with him.

Seems like a popular theme at the moment. There's a very similar deck listed here too: http://www.channelfireball.com/articles/magic-math-kaladesh-dubious-challenge-combustible-gearhulk-and-more/.
Convergance can happen independently though.

whompkin Yes, I think there is going to be a lot of convergence on this theme. As soon as I saw Refurbish the wheels started turning for a reanimate deck and I'm sure many others were thinking the same. Frank from channel fireball totally seems to have lifted the name off my deck though ;)

Ya, i built mine jeskai reanimate weeks ago. seems popular with the gearhulks

Great deck. I replaced Nahiri, the Harbinger with Panharmonicon and things got REAL silly.

Something that I have seen success with is Weaver of Lightning, it stops Smuggler's Copter and with radiant flames for 3 you can actually hit a creature for 4 that would normally survive. take a look at my list and let me know what you think man.

k1llampt - It's a bit uncouth to plug your deck on someone else's list without even giving an upvote. I've noticed other people do that on a lot of my deck listings and its pretty annoying. I'll leave your link up though, but maybe you should consider that next time you post on someone else's deck.

OminousRex you can go ahead and pull the link. I just wanted you to take a look at it since you were looking at a similar deck build. Thanks anyways

Maverik3 - Went 3-1, only losing to RG Energy deck (Electrostatic Pummeler)
October 15, 2016 10:29 p.m.
What did you beat? Reason I ask, I didn't do so hot only 2-2 and my only wins were against junk. So it was either just the meta or yours was just flat out better haha

Collective Brutality would be a SB card for its 1st effect, but the other 2 effects aren't really that good for this deck. I would rather use Lost Legacy in the SB to get rid of opponents cards that might disrupt my game.
