Prototype build of something I'm tinkering with. I only own Midrange Rock type decks and mashed the best cards from my Jund and Abzan decks into a Rock shell. Had a tough time choosing between Dark Confidant or Young Pyromancer. This deck utilizes some of the best removal known to the modern magic format.

Creatures:

Dark Confidant: Churns through the deck and refills our hand with sweet removal.

Grim Lavamancer: Our singleton creature. He isn't a major board presence in terms of stats, but his great ability gives us a way to use all those cards in the 'yard for extra damage. If you can wall him up with soul tokens, he can shoot anything down.

Abbot of Keral Keep : Not as good as Bob, maybe a distant cousin. His prowerss trigger works well with us. (Removed for Tidehollow Sculler for added disruption.)

Butcher of the Horde: Our 4-drop "Rhino" with wings. His sac ability can be extremely useful; sac Bob if we're gonna die next turn or an underwhelming soul token. As a result, Butcher does impersonations of Thundermaw Hellkite, Baneslayer Angel, or Serra Angel. (Removed for Young Pyromancer for increased pressure.)

Disruption:

Lightning Helix: Especially off Bob, the life gain is very welcome.

Lingering Souls: Veritable Time Walk.

Kolaghan's Command: 2-for-1

Lands:

Slayers' Stronghold: Mardu has this inexpensive yet great utility land at it's disposal. Turns a soul token from a chump to a champ.

Shambling Vent : This does work. I won a game at 1 life against a control deck by getting two of these to stick and they kept hitting, it looked like we basically exchanged life. They do die to bolt, but they're another way to keep Bob in check.
