I like it. I would move Disdainful Stroke to your sideboard (unless your local Meta requires it in Main), and put some other removal or burn spells, like Dissolve Negate, etc. Actually. Stubborn Denial might be better to just switch it out into your Main.

Xenagos, the Reveler is amazing in Temur decks. You can ramp your Crater's Claws with him. I'd drop a few creatures and get two of him in there.

I've learned that Fanatic of Xenagos is awesome to swing in with once. A lot of players will let him swing, and then Lightning Strike him. Perhaps consider dropping him for Xenagos.

As much as I love Rattleclaw Mystic. I only run him if I already have Sylvan Caryatid in my deck. If you're not running Sylvan, you should switch it out. Same cost, tap for ANY color, and Hexproof.

Stubborn Denial really only effectively counters removal, so I'm not sure how I feel about it mainboard. The Disdainful Stroke has come in handy as a tempo play late game, but I can see how it might be better as something else. What about Stoke the Flames?

I'm not sure just how I feel about Xenagos, the Reveler in here, but my friend has one he'll let me borrow for FNM, so I'll run it and see it how it goes.

And yeah, I realize Fanatic of Xenagos isn't optimal here, once I get Ashcloud Phoenix he'll be coming out.

I would love Caryatids but I'd rather not invest $64 in a playset of something that's rotating fairly soon.

Thanks for your suggestions! I'll try out a Xenagos at FNM and see what happens, and I'll definitely take a closer look at Disdainful Stroke's role in the deck.

The Temur build I am basing this off of, http://magic.wizards.com/en/events/coverage/gpla14/decktechtemur, actually does just run 3x Lightning Strike and 3x Temur Charm rather than worrying about Disdainful Stroke mainboard. Perhaps I'll just change to that.

Thanks for the comments on my deck. I have looked at yours and gave +1.

Solid deck. I would cut Curse of the Swine and Icy Blast from the sideboard, they are less powerful than other removal available. Try Fated Conflagration as removal against midrange decks. Removes fatties to create clear attacks and problematic planeswalkers.

Magma Spray has been a must for me against aggro decks. Those are the archetype's worst match ups because it cant go underneath them like it does to most opposing strategies. Having an early removal spell that you can possibly play as you deploy a threat is important to swing tempo and the race your way.

-2x Curse of the Swine, -2x Icy Blast & -1x Anger of the Gods

+2x Fated Conflagration, +2x Magma Spray & +1x Arc Lightning

I agree with you about Magma Spray vs. aggro decks, I have added it to the sideboard here. However, I can't bring myself to play Fated Conflagration in a three-color deck, the RRR in the cost makes it pretty awful in here. By the time I get three reds it might already be too late. Arc Lightning is a decent card, but I think 2 Anger of the Gods, 2 Magma Spray and an additional 2 Lightning Strike are enough to have in the sideboard against aggro decks, I'd rather save the rest of my sideboard spots for anti-Abzan and anti-control cards. Additionally, I feel Arc Lightning might not always be a two-for-one against aggro, because often by turn 3 their creatures' combined toughness is already 4 or higher due to heroic abilities or Hammerhand, etc. Its weakness against those types of decks, plus the fact that it's a sorcery, makes me a bit shy on throwing it in.

Thank you for your suggestions, and if you continue to play Temur let me know what works and doesn't work for you! I'm excited for Fate Reforged, Yasova Dragonclaw looks like it could be extremely fun.

Yeah I can understand Anger of the Gods over Arc Lightning, I'm actually maindecking 4 in my current deck and loving it in the current meta. I've been leery to add it to my Temur deck because of the creature base.

Temur I feel is in a bad position in my local meta right now so I haven't been playing it the past couple weeks but I'm still working on it and plan on bringing it back out. Yasova Dragonclaw intrigues me. I go through love/hate swings with Boon Satyr and he/she might end that.

Congrats on your top 4.

Yeah, Boon Satyr is an interesting card, but I think I love him more than hate him. Bestowing him for 4 extra unexpected damage can swing the game in your favor, especially if you bestow him to a Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker, because the Satyr becomes a creature at the end of the turn.

I feel like I might run 2 of the Yasova Dragonclaw and 2 Boon after Fate Reforged comes out, but we'll have to see what the meta looks like. Keep in mind we probably can't do a playset because it's a legendary creature.

Thank you! I'm just hoping I can do a bit better against Abzan in the future.

my friend ran a deck just like this at my local FNM and nearly won. the inclusion of heir of the wilds is nice, and finally surrak can see some play!!

December 18, 2014 10:37 p.m.

Yes, Heir of the Wilds is great because he can get in some early damage that no one wants to block. Later in the game, I leave him back as a blocker, and no one wants to attack through deathtouch! He tends to stick around for a while because people save their removal for my bigger threats, so he ends up doing a ton of work for me.

Honestly, Surrak Dragonclaw has been rather disappointing the few times I've cast him. There are very few situations I'd rather have him than, say, a Stormbreath Dragon, so I've popped Surrak into the sideboard for now. I'm not sure anymore if he has a place in this deck.
