In my play testing I found that Kiora isn't that good in this deck. I desperately wanted her to be good, but it just seemed that I would have rather played so many other cards instead of her.

I like this deck and was looking to build something to do with my 4 Surrak Dragonclaw 's I got in my khan's box. I wish I got a few more planeswakers than Surraks but oh well. I have everything to build this deck other than the Stormbreath Dragon 's on hand now. Any suggestions on good substitutes for him?

Also is 4 Courser of Kruphix too much? I usually play 2 and get it out when I need it most times.

Also, Maybe instead of running Nylea's Disciple, I would give Feed the Clan a shot.

I'd run Nissa, Worldwaker instead of Kiora. She can help with the ramp and lots of 4/4 trample land is fun.

Like I said, Feed the Clan is better than Nylea's Disciple. If you don't have Stormbreath Dragon I would maybe run 3 Ashcloud Phoenix or Flame-Wreathed Phoenix and 1 Prognostic Sphinx . There really is no other card close to the raw power of the dragon but, Im sure you could figure something out.

I dont think there is anything wrong with 4 Courser of Kruphix . I prob wouldnt run Nissa, Worldwaker due to the fact that your mana base is already taxed running 3 color and running into a potential board wipe could spell disaster.

Thanks for all of the suggestions you all! I think I will make a couple changes to the build. Let me know what you all think. In place of storm breath dragons i would run the prognostic sphinxes or the pheonixes. Neither are as good but both will fill your need for fliers. Prognostic sphinx is pretty awesome with the scary and high toughness. And I wish I had a Nissa to put in here. She's just so expensive right now. Maybe I can trade one for my foil Treasure Cruise ...

If you can trade for your foil Treasure Cruise , I would run away from that trade and never look back. Lol. I have a similar deck list I made if you care to look at it and maybe get an idea or two.

Have you seen the price of foil treasure cruise on star city?! $20!!!!

SLageman says... #10

That's ridiculous. One of the reasons I don't buy from Star City Games. Te have good articles and videos, but they are one of the most expensive places by far.

I think the deck is excellent, +1

The only changes i woulf consider is moving 4x Stormbreath Dragon to the sideboard in favour of 3x Arbor Colossus to make room for a third copy of Temur Ascendancy. Then i would just bring in the dragons VS white removal.

Thank you!

I like stormbreath dragon over arbor colossus because of the haste and pseudo evasion. It makes a big difference typically. As for the ascendency, I always found two to be too much. I usually use it as a draw engine which I will probably replace with a new fate reforged card, particularly that five-mana green draw spell....

Ascendancy is gonna have a bad time with Dromoka's Command now in,

True, but so is crater's claws and lots of other cards. It doesn't prevent me from using it despite the popularity of Abzan decks. This deck can functionally work without it, and I can sideboard in shamanic revelation in that situation for card draw. The main point is the pseudo-evasion of flying in my 4-drops and beyond.

The mana curve seems a tad high for 10 4CC drops, 5 5CC drops, and 1 7CC drop. There is mana dorks and Ascendancy for draw. Looks really beefy though! +1!

Thanks! I hear that. I tried to balance it out by having different card draw aspects and things which give my creatures haste so I can always do something. BTW, Savage Knuckleblade and Temur Ascendancy gives me a card draw at the end of every opponent's turn. Typically, I really only try to play my big things one turn early. Do you think it works while play testing?

May 13, 2015 7:57 p.m.

BigFace says... #19

Didn't get how Knuckleblade will draw a card at opponents end step?

I started my budget Temur deck with 3x Temur Ascendancy. Wow, it worked great when it got off! But more than I liked Ascendancy sat in my hand as I was trying to get board presence with quick beef. By that time Ascendancy was largely irrelevant. If anything it was great game 1. But then I almost always boarded it out.

With that I know some have had more success with 2x (which I tried). My beef with it is it takes the place of removal spells. I found those to be more helpful when playing against an array of decks. Never-the-less I would like to give it another try if I can make it work.

Pterozacktyl says... #20

I actually misspoke about it. I typically return the knuckleblade to my hand during their end step and play it again with haste to have continual card draw and board presence. Two ascendancies seems to be enough; any more than that and they sit in my hand.

How about a stompy Frost Walker? See Wildfire and Steam for more smashy stuff!

At a glance, this bears some similarities to my Intet Beatdown with the except that it's claiming to be midrange, running Caryatids over Rattleclaws (but no coursers, the staple of G/x midrange), and less blue.

The argument for being Temur over Gruul is being in blue, blue means disruption, and it so happens that they made a stellar card for this purpose called Stubborn Denial. Also recommend having things like Disdainful Stroke and Monastery Siege in the sideboard, Stroke works on everything but the low-curve aggro decks and Siege (in dragons) does double-duty as a tempo play against the burn and control decks.

Recommend getting a fourth Yavimaya Coast as setup for the T2 Knucks play, maybe a couple Mana Confluence though I do know the pain of running them without any lifegain all too well, and maybe a singleton copy of Haven of the Spirit Dragon as an additional copy of Stormbreath when things go long.
