Augur of Autumn would be amazing here! Awesome list, Kamerot!

Inkmoth I ran it for the better part of a year and never once drew it in a game, so I eventually dumped it. But I still have my copy that I will eventually cycle back in as the deck changes.

It's been suggested multiple times. Personally, I love the way the deck plays without it though.

Azoth2099 I'm keeping the deck all creatures/lands otherwise it would definitely be in there.

Yeah lol it's pretty much the only realistic option for the sole noncreature spell, right?
December 24, 2023 1:13 a.m.
Ohh yeah that could work for sure. It just saw a major price drop too, like -50% or something.

I know it's contextually irrelevant...but Survival of the Fittest too lol.

Have you considered Grinning Ignus? Great card to rebuild Animar with if he gets removed. Could even add in Birgi, God of Storytelling Flip for free red mana. Plus, infinite combo. And using Vizier, you already would have an infinite mana combo with Grinning and Animar. Add in Urza, Lord High Artificer and now you cast your whole deck. Add in Altar of the Brood and you can just mill everyone and pass turn for wins.
In general though, Grinning Ignus should be an Animar staple. He rebuilds Animar so fas and lets himself be recast for almost free. Plus once Animar gets 2 counters, you start generating free colorless mana. Which, with Vizier, lets you start casting more things.
Also consider Ornithopter of Paradise. Same thing as Birds but it’s colorless so free casting with Animar and free counters.

Oh also, Survival of the Fittest has a creature version. Just only one per turn with Fauna Shaman. Forgot about her lol

leon_bulminot thanks for the suggestions. Grinning ignus is definitely going in, can't believe I missed out on that card. I don't know why, but I always thought birgi was restricted to noncreature spells, so I will more than likely test her out and see where it goes. Ornithopter isn't a bad call, I will probably look at replacing another dork with it. As for urza and fauna shaman, they're maybe's. I had tested fauna shaman before and didn't really care for it in this deck. I've grown to like being tutorless (with the exception of pir and toothy), it makes for a different path to victory every game.

I love this kind of deck. If I might suggest, Primal Surge is a powerhouse in decks like this one

chevinSilverado you're not the first to suggest it, lol. The deck plays really well as is, and it feels like too much of a win more card. Maybe one day I'll try it out. Thanks for the suggestion though. Glad you like the deck.

Love the deck! (And the description) I have a VERY budget version of this, but the wildlife refuge looks great! I was going to suggest Grinning Ignus myself until I read the other comments.
