Sideboard

Maybeboard

This is a super budget deck based around using small, indestructible artifacts as a base for indestructible creatures.

Pros: Our creatures can only be killed by -5/-5 effects, forced sacrifice, or exiling. This creates a blood moon-like effect in the sense that half of our opponent's deck becomes unusable. Our creatures are huge (5/5 mostly) and come out early (2-3 drops), so we can block creatures against aggro decks and beat down quickly against combo decks. We also abuse Damnation because it doesn't hit our own creatures. The deck is strong against control, some aggro decks, and other mid-range decks: you'll mow down Zoo, Hatebears/ Death/Taxes, Jund, Abzan, UWx, etc.

Cons: By nature, the creatures take two cards each to really work, so we will one for two-ing ourselves and running out of cards very early. If our opponent has cheap counter spells and Paths in hand, we might get slowed down too quickly. We have lots of card draw to combat this however. Also, while this deck can beat down pretty well, it takes it a minute to get going, and might not be fast enough to beat faster combo decks. I've therefore mainboarded some counter spells, and there are more in the sideboard. The deck may struggle against Burn, Tron, Melira combo, etc.

Either way, it's super fun and unique. The deck isn't finished though, and I'd love some advice. What the deck really needs is some payoff cards: Cards that answer the question "Why does it matter that our creatures our indestructible? Other than being had to remove, what does it give us? How can we abuse it?" Right now, the only payoff card we have is Damnation. Also, I'm just looking for really any card that would be good in the decks. Any suggestions you might have will be greatly appreciated :)

To upgrade the deck, you can include more expensive hate artifacts to the mainboard and sideboard, such as Mox Opal, Chalice of the Void, Pithing Needle, Grafdigger's Cage. In relevant matchups, these guys make for amazing creatures/ phylactery targets.

This deck will take lots of playtesting... Here are some things I need to figure out:

1) Do I need more artifacts, creatures, or support cards?

2) Which is better: Etched Champion, Phylactery Lich, or Tezzeret's Touch?

3) Which is better: Sign in Blood or Thoughtcast?

4) Which is better: Darksteel Pendant or mainboard hate artifacts?

5) Is Bontu's Last Reckoning Worth it?

UNFINISHED!
